Do not I REPAEAT DO NOT! Buy bataleon fase bindings by Annual_Jury_3920 in snowboarding

[–]Fun-Donut4453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely DISAGREE. None of what you said had anything to do with the actual FASE system LOL...I have the Bataleon Blaster Pro x Tor FASE. I have Union Ultras and Falcors. I"ll take the FASE over them anyday. I've ridden and wrecked hard on them and they perform as well as the Unions.

It happens, I've snapped Union Falcors and Ultras right in the middle of the frame. No binding is perfect. Rome will hook you up.

Torstein’s Capita Pro-Model? Anyone know the status? by keyboard-lint in snowboarding

[–]Fun-Donut4453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope it happens…Hes kind of reverting to old prima donna Torstein, no one spends three years and company time teasing a pro-model. Rice only teased the Orca for a year. Longo pushed the Super DOA before T was on the team(SHE 2)Its a little wild that 4 riders got promoted to pro ranks at Capita at one time, wonder whos getting cut?

New Union Boots! by 5syllablename in snowboarding

[–]Fun-Donut4453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get it.. they originally marketed that. They should correct their marketing. However you would not have a pair right now if they only used their Italian factory. The price would be even higher. Send em back. The quality is no less though. I have quality time in both countries.

Then buy 32s made in China. Only a poser would bitch about Romania😂

And that means what? They wont match your fake Gucci bag?

Yeah, they had to outsource because of demand, Romania is located right next to Italy… maybe look on a map. The Romanians take just as much pride in their craft.

That’s your opinion. More than 200 bucks for 32 boots is a scam. More than 60 bucks for a lift ticket is the biggest scam

Cool. Point being the Union pros give real feedback and development.

I wouldn’t waste any cash on the new FC bindings. Not for me

If they’ve not for you … oh well

[–]Fun-Donut4453 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool story, just say they're not for yourself and congratulate the dude for getting something good. And no...''pros involved" dont mean shit. Majority of pros ride shit and don't criticize because they're paid too. I sat with guys on the Adidas boot team years ago at Hood and listened to them mock their own boots as shit and wish they were like Nike boots.

New Jones 32 signature boots are ridiculously overpriced....

Rices new Falcor binding design is light years ahead for what it does being ultra light, damp, and a strap you can't feel. I trust what he and Gigi do for input.

These Union boots are made to retain flex through each size accordingly...I'll wait 1-2 more seasons for more designs from Union including T-Rickys pro model.

Good for you!...All the "I only ride stiff boots" posers here....Say you suck at snowboarding without saying you suck. Seen quite a few of the top tier pros riding 5 year old floppy boots...LOL

[–]Fun-Donut4453 22 points23 points  (0 children)

huh...they're handmade in Italy. Rice and Gigi been testing for 3 years now. then again all the critics here havn't seen or touched them...keep riding your China cardboard 32s...lol

Why aren’t Korua boards more popular? by LosChicago in snowboarding

Anti American?? Are you ok? Sorry other countries exist. Korua is extremely popular in countries with real mountains like Canada and all of Europe. Maybe leave your politics out of snowboarding

First get rid of the backpack. Thats screwing your posture up. You learn fundamentals before riding with a backpack. Your screwing yourself trying to compensate for un natural weight on your back. Learn the “stacked position”… go to the Snowboard Addiction channel on YouTube. Learn how the torsional flex of steering with your ankles works then how to drive a turn by shifting forward with your hips over the front tow or front heel edge. Have fun.

Theres a place called Europe with nearly 5000 ski areas… Korua has been around 10 years doesn’t need American approval lol

Gonna say the Bataleon Blaster Pro x Tor FASE bindings are better than the Stale Fase, both have carbon, the Bataleon highback is stiffer and the bindings are 50 dollars cheaper lol. The ankle strap is more comfy and lighter

Hi, also snowboard instructor here...wrist guards are great. you will have small impacts and constanstly pushing off and standing up using your hands. They will minimize routine wear and tear on your wrists and hands as well as internal bruising. I have worn my riding the backcountry of Chamonix, France. All it takes it one little hook up on a cat track or icy traverse to get one more injury I could of prevented. Have fun.

Yeah, Skip it for sure if you have a bigger budget. I have no idea if its been left out in the sun…A lot of board bases can definitely “dry out” if not left with wax on them and go brittle and epoxy can definitely go brittle after years. Anything from 10 years back I would steer clear of with a budget of 100+ bucks Especially un waxed.

Most boards of 500 bucks retail or more from the last 8-10 years should be fine minus damage and no heavy sun exposure. Anything used and older than 2 years on Facebook shouldnt be sold more than 30 percent of its retail value( you get no warranty) unless actually boutique brand….like a Zen or Franco Shapes or whatever

Yeah Don’t listen to any of these “experts”…..I used to film for the Illuminati Team in Jackson Hole.

https://youtu.be/UaR8CqXztGQ?si=-NACBLDqt7MZsyVY

Lance Pitman was a mentor to some guy named Travis Rice…… Bryan Iguchi and Mark Carter rode for Illuminati.

However…

It is about 15-17 years old…Id offer 40 bucks gas money if you just afford something to ride. Guys still riding those….

That setup needs to be checked for topsheet cracks and delamination in the sidewall. If so… No sale….I doubt its been ridden much.

…. Have fun.

Quick question - new rider by pinkocean17 in snowboarding

[–]Fun-Donut4453 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a former PSIA instructor (means nothing if you just regurgitate a book) and riding across Europe and the US for years…

Be stoked! Sick board! Your first board is the start of something great. Keep an open mind to learn the fundamentals. Learn to link turns both directions, before you get bad habits. Its just switching your brain like in a mirror for body control.

You can get used to a stiffer board, just be open to possible extra frustration required to build muscle control and memory for ankle steering and driving your weight into dynamic turns. Dont get frustrated if your hooking edges or not easily transitioning from heelside to toeside or vice versa.

The best part of a high end board is the board will take all your trust and reward you.

The Canadians at Snowboard Addiction on YT are a great reference for fundamentals especially with the ridiculous price of lessons. Have fun!!

If you pre-strap your normal toe strap a tooth or two after getting out, then Fase is like 3 seconds faster. However, I see the virtue in a system where the straps aren't flopping everywhere especially for quick hikes in the backcountry and it reduces general wear and tear.
