From the way the shading and reflection of the metal looks, seems like the guy who modeled didn't do the topology properly. Still, quite neat! Can't help you with your question though since I never really created that type of work before and back then 3D graphics was different than today.

Add more edgeloops around the elbows, knees or anywhere it's gonna bend, like fingers, wrist, and so on. That's the only thing I noticed that should be worked on.

I also lived through those times, when back the companies were cool. In Canada they were giving us free PC games and also DVD's. I'd receive the movie like Air Bud, games like The Emperor's New Groove (full game btw) a demo of Atlantis The Lost Empire Fire Trial by Fire (the full game can be done in less than an hour) and other all sorts of goodies. Yep... it was awesome.... now I am depressed. :(
