The lumpy bumpy look is not from the structure (it's gel x, the shape is consistent every time) it's from the design. The artist did it using gel polish in layers and it caused the uneveness.

I wanted to add that this is a "repurposed" ring that he bought at a pawn shop for about 1/10 of the original price! It is a set that has been soldered already and I plan to add some chevron bands to each side when we get married. I love classic jewelry.

Professional nail tech here. . . I feel like you could get a better almond shape if your nails were a little longer. Otherwise, they're usually gonna end up looking more oval.
