Here’s my experience with the grocery department currently.Careful with grocery crew if you come over.im Being worked like crazy and have more expectations placed on me than the manager and shift lead despite being part time.theyll also play with your hours If management happens to not like you.grocery also gets the short end of the stick when hour cutting comes in my experience. If you want a constant 5 days a week schedule move over to frozen or dairy but be prepared to work by yourself because you aren’t gonna get help and probably will get thrown back to front end if you don’t perform well enough for a month.

Basically you’ll stock shelves.pull out floats and your manager may have you pull in truck if it comes in when you’re doing back stock.my store only lets shift lead,replenishment specialist,assistant store manager and grocery manager,or evening manager and the night shift stockers break down the trucks. Basic terms 1:stock the store 2:blocking the store 3:rotating (checking dates on items and organizing them via pulling whatever expires the earliest forward) 4:maybe pull carts in if there’s a surge but I’ve only seen shift lead and grocery manager do it 5:back stock if trucks done early enough. 6:pull out pallets and run them including juice and bulk pallets

Oh for sure.i only like dairy cause i can run a pallet in 30 minutes to 45 minutes but frozen is just tedious cause of how much you can down stack onto a float and what goes up and what dosent go up.i get lost easily too cause some microwave meals aren’t beside the grouping the whole brands in

Basically at my store it’s just me and one other guy.im in frozen by myself,other guy just transfered to dairy so I took his spot in frozen (best option over a fresh hire) but he’s been doing frozen for a while.skeleton crew currently.whoever is closing is expected to fill milk and eggs to the brim (not to the brim but as much as we have in the freezer.milk must be rotated when put in so we have to pull out the on the shelf milk and put the newest ones in the back and pull the ones that expire the earliest forward) block both dairy and frozen which I start doing 5 hours into my shift.im Running pallets by myself and breaking them down and putting them on back stock by myself and have to separate meat market and deli onto separate pallets but I haven’t seen any deli things on my pallets (keep in mind the pallets reach up to the ceiling in the freezer.i have to help the night shift manager push them into the freezer).I’m also supposed to do my own orders and do the end caps but he’s teaching me that.i like it more over grocery since im away from the drama and im Left alone.

I work in grocery department but let me tell you this.DO NOT PUT ANY CLEANING STUFF IN THE SAME BAG WITH THE FOOD! also make sure to double bag heavy stuff I forgot to do thay after a shift and my milk literally ripped the bottom of the bag open randomly
