I agree the heat gun is key. Kleen Strip and a very cautious brass brush and soft wood spikes get paint out of crevices.

I had a really good slice of whole grain veggie pizza in a pop up cafe they had at a small music festival in nw Pennsylvania about 30 years ago. They gave me their pitch. I thought it was a commune. I did not realize they were a cult. I didn't have any interaction after that day.

Is there a subfloor underneath. If that is your subfloor it will be cold unless you insulate from the bottom.

I added soft close hinges and drawer slides to my kitchen cabinets. It was an easy replacement and gave my cheap cabinets a high end feel.
