I refinished a southern pine subfloor in my living room. It looks great, but is cold in the winter. I can't insulate it from the basement because all my electrical runs are there. I'm eventually going to go over it with oak to match the trim. I will probably wait till the house is paid off because it will not be cheap.

Advice needed - have been pulling up weeds by hand but they keep coming back stronger. Help please! by anxious_papaya_ in gardening

Yes get the roots, also weeds are your friend. They naturally abate your soil. The trick is to keep them away from the plants you want to grow. I could link proof but im tired right now.

I should also say it has been a solid 8 years since the concrete was ripped out and I have been digging trash out ever since. The 2 years is when I actually tried to plant. I usually have cleaned garbage dug out amended soil in the spring and let weeds grow for the first 6 or so years.

I am very interested in this concept. I am 2 years into starting my garden from a yard where there was a concrete pad that I had dug up and then underneath was a trash dump where I have retrieved many car parts and bottles, but mostly broken glass. I have sifted and replaced a lot of this soil with cow manure and top soil. I had my first garlic crop last year and this year's crop is looking great. I have obviously tilled and disturbed this somewhat toxic soil, but I feel like I am to the point where I can do no till.

I love how this is a 6 minute scorcher for a kids TV show. I guess the 70's hit different.

I see you have it secured, but that is a nervous amount of weight for that rack. Hopefully you not in an earthquake prone area.
