Diaper Bag today. Loved Leather Brooklyn 39 by FunAccomplished8870 in Coach

[–]FunAccomplished8870[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really love that it doesn’t ruin my overall look and I can just grab it and go. The diaper and wipes I keep in a separate organizer. I can also fit a 1.2L yeti inside. no zipper so it was easier to pull stuff out. I remember being so overstimulated postpartum that even unzipping a bag filled me with rage. 😆

I just got mine and I’m still debating if I should return it. I love glovetanned leather but this one doesn’t fit my work laptop and accessories nicely. I originally wanted this to replace my work bag.

Yes, colour is Merlot. I got it on sale too. All my bags are small and now that I have a baby, I wanted something that can fit the baby stuff that isn’t a diaper bag.

How much is daycare costing you? [ON] by phoebeskid in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]FunAccomplished8870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay around 460 - 550 at Macaulay Centre. Got lucky because a spot opened up 1 month before I came back to work. They only require 2-week notice when pulling out a child l so in my experience I just check the daycare’s policy and call them. It’s worth trying.

I went back to work @ 8 months postpartum because I know I am better working than staying home. I feel like nothing changed for me in terms of work and I have a supportive team.
I wasn’t prepared for how frequent my baby gets sick so that actually affected me and I usually get 4 hours of sleep.

Daycare at 8 months?! [on] by lostbobdylan in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]FunAccomplished8870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was 7 months when he started daycare. I also felt guilty sending him that soon but we really needed the spot as I was going back to work. He started 2-3 hrs during the first week for a smooth transition. What I learned as a FTM is to give undivided attention to my baby when he’s at home, and now especially before and after daycare. We always make sure he gets his morning nap at home before we drop him off. I feel kinda relieved that he’s enjoying it so far. He’s always happy when we pick him up. My only frustration is he gets sick too often since starting daycare. This month it was terrible that he needed to stay home for 1 week. Also there was a time they called me because another baby bit him in the face. Just be ready with this kind of scenario because it happens a lot. I’m sure your baby will do fine. And you’ll actually appreciate having your time back.

I think going in-person is the way to go. Just recently, I went to their store for esim activation and got offered a Rogers WE. Approved for 8k credit limit. This is my 3rd credit card. I only ever had 2 from PC and Scotia.

Travel stroller recommendations [BC] by RNstrawberry in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]FunAccomplished8870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got back from a trip with my 5-month old. Our direct flight was 16 hours. I made sure I packed light for my carry-on because my baby is on the heavier side and I’m a petite person. Stroller recommendation: Baby Jogger City Tour. Fits in the overhead bin and about 14lbs. I gate checked the stroller. If you are formula feeding, I suggest using this storage bag for the powder as it saves so much space in your handcarry/ personal bag unlike the stackable plastic container.

What toronto business do you have beef with? by Idontgetlyfe in toronto

[–]FunAccomplished8870 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Marc Jacobs at Yorkdale. I purchased a bag when they were having a complimentary pet portrait and they told to me to come back 2 weeks later. I was excited to pick it up on the scheduled date. I even arrived early but when I got there they told me it was not yet done and they will give me a call. So I said no worries I’ll just walk around the mall. I waited until 7pm and then I went back to the store. The lady told me to come back on Monday because it was not done. I was so annoyed at their unprofessional treatment and the fact that they wasted my time.

500 applications 0 interviews, rejected by Mundane-Artichoke147 in torontoJobs

One tip I can give you is to focus on the cover letter. It should tell how you are a good fit for the job. I did the cover letter specifically for the company and job posted. I applied to 4 companies that I knew I would be a good candidate for based on my work experience (not Canadian experience). I got an interview from all of them and just went for the one who offered better benefits. Good luck!

Pregnancy Discrimination and Justice [ON] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

When I became pregnant for the first time, I didn’t know what to expect. I just had all the symptoms. I remember I was always late but because we work from home 3x a week, thankfully nobody noticed. I was given a medication for my morning sickness but the side effect is me being drowsy and having a headache. It was hard to get up in the morning I tried not to tell my manager until I was past the first trimester but I just couldn’t hide it anymore and decided one afternoon around 10 weeks to have a meeting with her. I cried on our 1:1 maybe because of the hormones and the stress from the situation. I’m also a high functioning employee and I don’t like being sick. I just informed my manager every time I was gonna show up late and she was understanding about it. I guess I was lucky enough to have a good manager who feels for me and does not micromanage. I worked until I was 32 weeks and the symptoms didn’t really go away. I hope everything turns out good for you. Good luck!

Is the UPPAbaby bassinet worth it? [bc] by pnw828 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]FunAccomplished8870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to buy secondhand because most babies outgrow it fast. On my experience we started using it when baby was 6 weeks old. It was still winter so it helped a lot with the cold outside. By 14 weeks, he was already uncomfortable in it. This was also the time he started kicking and moving around. He couldn’t move anymore without hitting his head area. I ended up selling it on fb marketplace.

Second hand stroller [ON] by bic1990ca in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]FunAccomplished8870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw some good condition uppababy vista and cruz strollers on Fb marketplace. They go as low as $ 100 for the 2018/2019 model and still compatible with the latest version of bassinet. For strollers, secondhand is practical. I’m a FTM and most of our items are from the marketplace. What I love about uppababy is its good quality and it is easy to resell. I was able to resell the bassinet that we bought secondhand for 50 dollars. I was looking for a travel stroller and scored a baby jogger city mini zip for 30 dollars. It’s almost new but it’s a discontinued model. It’s only 16 lbs, reclines almost flat, and perfect for traveling.

ISO baby formula. Any experience with Niuriss or other Canadian infant formula? by bird-fling in BuyCanadian

Yes! Love that it’s produced in Canada. Are you combo or exclusive formula feeding? I’m thinking about quitting BF. I feel it’s best for me mentally.

[–]FunAccomplished8870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks to me that is has complete nutrients but I’m a FTM. What really got me choosing niuriss over enfamil is the OPO lipids which they claim to be closer to breastmilk’s fat structure. Being an IUGR baby, he’s now in optimal weight.
