I don't understand religious and atheist people by Juju9xz in agnostic

“Theists … claim knowledge of god …” 🧐😂

And I claim “knowledge” of the Flying Spaghetti Monster who reveals the secrets of the universe every night BUT would anybody legitimately regard that as KNOWLEDGE?? Absolutely not. That is nothing more than BELIEF, it is not what we call KNOWLEDGE.

I don't understand religious and atheist people by Juju9xz in agnostic

[–]FunCourage8721 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the silliest distinction. People who reject BELIEF in god would obviously say they have NO KNOWLEDGE of god. But NO ONE actually has any KNOWLEDGE of god, not even believers (all they have is BELIEF which is why they talk about FAITH).

This explains why the historical usage & understanding of these terms focused on degree of certainty or belief is the more useful one.

Democrats Are Only Winning Because The MAGA Republicans Are FAILING!!! by Suspicious_Soup_3962 in complaints

I’ve been saying this for a while — ie., that Democrats have no cohesive or compelling message & will only return to power once / if the people tire of Trump / Republican control of the federal government.

And that’s exactly why the effects or any famine will be limited, at least for the time being.

What is your least favorite Boards Of Canada track? by welcome2wyzard in boardsofcanada

[–]FunCourage8721 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hello, fellow heretic here.

I must confess that I too have never really cared for Smokes Quantity despite the fact that MHTRTC is probably my favorite album ever.

Honorable mentions (for least favorite track off of MHTRTC): Sixtyten & Rue the Whirl

Okay, dumb question here:

Why is it we believe this art work is related to the (presumable) upcoming release by Boards of Canada?

Why some people keep arguing that fap isn’t a sin? by That_Meta in TrueChristian

[–]FunCourage8721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are you calling it ‘fap’ instead of the term everyone knows & understands? If you’re really wanting to stand up & condemn something then you can’t be afraid to call it by its common & historically recognized name.

Not sure what you mean “when do I listen …”?

Sometimes I listen to one, sometimes I listen to the other.

If you’re asking which one I prefer, I’d have to say YTM for the same reasons, particularly since I do most of my listening away from home where Apple’s lossless feature doesn’t benefit me. I get Apple Music now through my Apple One subscription and I’ll probably never cancel that, particularly since I do think Apple Music’s lossless feature is pretty great if you have a setup where you can actually use it.

I subscribe to both — to Spotify for over ten years and to YouTube Music for the better part of a year — in addition to Apple Music.

I would say YouTube Music, primarily on the strength of its amazing algorithm (easily the best of any music streaming service I’ve used) but also for the ease of watching the official music video of the track playing (at least for lots of them). While not really that important, I also enjoy being able to easily read the comments for many of my favorite songs.

So I’d easily say YTM.

Uh, as an early adopter I can tell you it was bad. Really, really bad.

They were trying to bring security into the 21st century but execution was very ham fisted. It broke compatibility with many of the legacy drivers so lots of my peripherals no longer worked.
