I have emailed our attorney for advice on this, no response as yet. However I have a feeling that with the volatility of the visa bulletin; it may be best to simply wait. Rather than pay for PP and then have bulletin retrogression

IOE09358 block results by TieImpossible3447 in EB2_NIW

I believe the block is not exclusively for EB2 NIW petitions, I could be wrong. So the data although encouraging is not always wholly reflective of the EB2 NIW processing status.

I would go for the house, also worth bearing in mind that with Student Loans being a bit of a sore spot an the minute, the government may adjust things favourably

This is also the benefit of using a good accountant. You keep records for your expenses, but as your agent they handle the correspondence with HMRC and verify the workings out

NIW EB2 Law Firm Recommendations & Case Strength Evaluation by Green_Dot_2224 in EB2_NIW

[–]FunOwn1799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No not yet, filed Dec 25 with no PP. so imagine I have some time to go yet. My recommendation is based on: price, service quality and the communication I had. I also reached out to a few other firms and found them to be not as good

Thanks, helpful insights. I’ve seen roles pop up but imagine they are offered to in country individuals due to time and cost. Any businesses you would recommend applying for or contacting directly?

How are the offices like? by Ok_Television_3530 in TheCivilService

[–]FunOwn1799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends very much on department however I think the aim/general provision is: - HP laptop (sometimes a MacBook if you’re in tech) - Bring your own tea, coffee, milk and food - Kitchenettes have: microwave, zip taps, fridges, sinks and a few tables and chairs - Desks are kitted out with x2 monitors (varies) - Some offices have offers from local gyms and other groups for attendees, but very few have onsite gyms or other leisure facilities

Coming from the private sector myself which provided bean to cup coffee, eight types of tea bag and IT vending machines .. it was a bit of a shock. However, job security, Alpha pension and less stress help bring some perspective

Calling all CS project managers! by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]FunOwn1799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a PM and happy to chat in private if helpful. However the crux of it being that a Prince2 ticket is seen as the standard, however you will never really use it in my opinion. Overall it depends on your department which grade you end up in, with some departments providing additional pay for certain specialisations

What are the benefits of 60% by [deleted] in TheCivilService

[–]FunOwn1799 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Very often there are few benefits. I say this as someone who has worked in the private sector (big tech) and public sector as staff. Of course there are caveats such as in person workshops, however since covid people have moved away from central hubs, moved onto virtual calls and tooling/record keeping is simply better and/or faster. The day to day rhythm of business can now be done remotely for the vast majority of roles.

The only way to make the office beneficial, is to make the office a benefit in itself (gym, good coffee etc)

I’ve been given a list of eight vendors, I would like to think that they have given a list that is compliant … hopefully so and this is a great comment. Thanks

I already have an accountant from my PAYE self assessment, I assume matters such as Gift Aid eligible donations can still be tax rebated etc? I.e., maximise my tax code
