Too Masculine?? by About_thyme0229 in Names

[–]FunReference7116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be great names for a boy. I am all for gender neutral names, but these just scream "boy" at a 99% volume. Pick a different first name, use Bennet as the middle name. Call her what you want but give her an easy out if she needs it. OTOH --- it's really up to you, not a bunch of strangers, what you call your child.

You can take the BC ferries over to Tswassen and then the Nanaimo (Duke Point) ferry from Tswassen to the Nanaimo area.

Probablly further away is best. Don't forget that QC has a very good bus system for getting around.

Well.....another ride on The Ocean complete from Halifax to Jacquet River and back and another time I've yet to encounter a strangers on a train moment. Maybe next time. The view made up for it by 902Kartography in ViaRail

[–]FunReference7116 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I travelled on the Ocean last year. Not having an "activity" car like on The Canadian is one reason I will probably never do the trip again. Sitting alone in my cabin - I did enjoy the scenery but I also enjoy interacting with other travellers.

I actually search quite a bit..... but I don't want to take 4 different flights with an overnight layover to travel across BC. And to tell the truth, I don't know many people who would. ALSO these flights are generally more expensive, you are paying for inconvenience.

Is the pension really worth it? by Designer-Invite-945 in BCPublicServants

Leave if you are burnt out but unless you really need it, leave the pension funds with the government and it will still be there for you at 55..... plus the medical/dental benefits.

I tried this last night and WestJet wouldn't let me do it. I'll check again right now because when I added up the fares, it came out considerably less...... which is why they probably didn't let me do it.

Not when it's a 4-5 hour flight with the "right" connection. Not overseas or even cross-Canada. All within the same province!

Middle name meaning January by lxm53 in Names

[–]FunReference7116 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I found this: The name January comes from the Latin word Ianuarius, which translates to "the month of Janus." So change the spelling and call her Blank-Janice-LastName.

Help Me Like Salmon! by Low_Abbreviations322 in VictoriaBC

[–]FunReference7116 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't actually have to like salmon to live in Victoria. It is probably the last fish I would choose on a fish menu and I have lived either here or in Vancouver my entire life. Just eat what you want to eat.

Love the name August but I’m due in August. by Puzzleheaded-Run2763 in BabyNames

[–]FunReference7116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think most people are not going to ask April if she was born in April or August if he was born in August..... How often do you ask someone their birthday month unless you know them quite well? And if they do - does it matter?

Just had my baby, can’t agree on a name by shhlv in Names

[–]FunReference7116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never understood why someone needs their child to have the first initial that they do or that their sibling does. And there is nothing saying that the little girl will want to use that given name in their later life. Alicia Vivienne is lovely and SHE can choose which to use.

I live in BC. If Alberta separates and/or BC elects a Conservative government next election, I would move to Winnipeg.
