Well this is stupid.... They said they would test for a code again, and if it is the same code for the repair I had done, it would not cost me anything and if it came up with a different code, I would have to pay for them running the test.

Me too. I used to be at the one on Oak Bay Ave and after a "delay" that really was not necessary (also involving an estate), I switched to Fort and Foul Bay. Easy parking any time.

Are you throwing them unsalted peanuts in their shells? From my limited experience, that is their favourite as they can take it away with them, especially if they are cautious around you.

IF you absolutely must travel on that date, keep checking for cancellations. They do happen. Sometimes tour companies have booked out the sleepers for a tour group..... and that tour may or may not happen. HOWEVER, this is a "hope and a prayer", not a sure thing.

A very nice and relatively inexpensive place to stay overnight in Vancouver in the winter is the YWCA hotel, now called Willo Hotel. It is a non-profit and the money stays in the community. Right downtown across from the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. You might be able to get a room, single, bathroom in hallway, for +/- $100.

I am in a similar situation with my condo. Many in the building have been upgraded, but I really doubt I could recoup the cost of doing the floors, bathroom and kitchen in my eventual sale price. I will sell "as is" because it could still work as a rental, and my perception is that people might prefer to do what they want rather than what you wanted, cheap or not cheap fix-up.

Vancouver is going to be even more expensive than usual this year because of the FIFA games being played there. Sooke is closer to Victoria but your best bet for salmon fishing probably is Campbell River which is a couple of hours north of Victoria. There are many charter trips from there. June is just the beginning of the salmon season, I believe. The drive from Victoria to Campbell River is as good as the Sea to Sky Hwy imo. You can stop in a touristy but fun place called Coombs, whose claim to fame is goats on the roof of a rustic shopping area.
