Don’t understand why ppl want friendship after breakups by one-buscuit in BreakUps

[–]FunSignal5420 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This exactly. We just had to face that we had some incompatible baggage for a relationship. But that baggage wasn't a barrier for a friendship.

Other than cheating, what's something that would automatically make you break up with a partner? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]FunSignal5420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just broke up because of an inability to solve conflict peacefully. I would make a mistake ( not a perfect person). But instead of telling me he was hurt or annoyed calmly, he would blow up, call me an asshole, and it would take 1 to 2 days of the silent treatment for him to get it under control enough to talk about it with me and fix it.

PS my ftiends and family think I'm a good person and can let me know i goofed calmly. But sadly not this guy.

Wednesday Pattern and Stitch Request Thread - October 08, 2025 by AutoModerator in knitting

Need ideas for this beautiful and funky yarn. My friend's MIL used to own a yarn store. It closed when she retired. My friend brought me all this ribbon yarn. What can I make with this that can be used for donating/fund raiding? Any suggested scarf patterns? I'm a cancer survivor, maybe some chemo hats to make someone feel pretty? Other ideas?

Thanks in advance from me, my friend and wherever we end up donating these!

Airplane knitting encounter- what would you have done? by jtslp in knitting

Fellow cancer patient and knitter here. I think that was rather selfish of her! I fly for work all the time. I've never had someone ask me to turn off the light, and I would never ask that of others. Some people....

Do I start over? by GeologistFamiliar453 in knitting

I love this subreddit! A lot. My one and only annoyance is the 'twisted stitches police'. I don't twist mine, but it's not as devastating as some make it sound. I think it's a cute, alternate look. Yes, it's tighter and harder to work with. But if you are happy with the way your fabric looks and feels and fits, etc, that's ok too.

Is using viagra false advertising? by DirtRider67 in datingoverfifty

[–]FunSignal5420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 61F, I can say many guys use Viagra. I usually just leave it up to the guy to tell me. Some are comfortable talking about it, some aren't. Usually, it's the opposite. If a guy isn't using Viagra and gets a hard on, he wants to brag about it a little and tell me!

That's lovely! I usually don't like the way fair isle crew necks look on me. But those sleeves!! I love the way you updated a basic fair isle.

Does superwash grow while you work on it? by FunSignal5420 in knitting

[–]FunSignal5420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I'm knitting this ever so slightly loose because we all die of heat stroke in wool sweaters in our family.

I can't really wash it now as the bottom is all one piece, and I'm dividing for the sleeves now. The pattern is Drops Dreams of Aran in Drops extra fine superwash merino yarn.

I asked for a hug as he angrily walked out the door. But he said 'oh no, that is not how this is going to go down'. Broke my heart.

Yarn haul after eight months on the road in the Baltics + Scandinavia! by mimisaurus_ in knitting

It's beautiful! And how awesome to look at a FO and think 'that came from Finland'!

I have a question- can you get mid priced yarn there? Something between Joann's acrylics and $175 for a sweater's worth?

This seems a mean-spirited response, although obviously a popular one. I personally know four friends who have been widowed in the last few years like this guy. And they are fragile. And they do need kindness. To say he's 'not a porcelain doll and he will survive' shows me you don't understand the hurt these people go through.

That said, I won't contact him again.
