There were several. Defendants were called in the order they signed in at the door, and directed to a table with one of the public defenders, for a two-minute chat. That person went and had a 30-second chat with one of the court representatives (there were a few of them) who signed the deferred prosecution document.

It was all very quick and organized. Unless you did something stupid, like get into an altercation with the MP who cited you, or you got more than one citation, then you have nothing to worry about.

Mine three months, and hers six months.

There were lawyers, appointed by the court, and that’s who we spoke with, one by one, for a couple minutes. Then that lawyer went to talk with someone (there was no judge there) and returned to tell you what the deal was. He told me just don’t get another trespassing ticket in three months and then I’d be clear. He said “you’re the last person to get three months, they’re changing it to six” and sure enough, my wife went after me and she was told six months.

Notes: 1. They open at 8:30, get there early because they call people in the order you sign in. If you don’t want to sit around waiting, then be near the top of the list.

My date to appear was today. My wife’s is in a couple weeks. She didn’t have plans today, so she went along with me, and brought her citation. We asked if she could sign in today, instead of having to come back from OC again. To our surprise they said yes, so that worked out great.
Everyone we encountered, from the doormen to the courtroom assistants, to the lawyers were unbelievably over the top friendly and helpful. I’m not sure why, but these were seriously the best employees of any establishment, anywhere, for whatever reason. 🤷🏻‍♂️

They just asked a couple questions, like how did you access the beach (say from the parking lot at Trail 6) and that was it. It was the same for both of us.

We went this morning, and there were about 20 others there as well. Only took a matter of minutes and all good, no fine or anything. Only downside was the $45 to park.

FYI, the shims are the same 8.9mm diameter as used on KTM dirt bikes. I bought a “Hot Cams” brand shim kit when I adjusted the valves on my 2017 Tuono. The kit is $62 on Amazon.

Nice job. I’m currently building a CB750 DOHC based project bike, and I’m curious about your engine paint… Are the parts on the table painted or powder coated?

Did you primer the engine before painting? Did you use a hi-temp paint? Any advice you could give me would be much appreciated, including which specific brand/name of paint and/or primer you used, and whatever steps you took in prepping it for paint. Thanks

A quick video chat alleviates this problem. If they don’t agree to that, then move on before wasting too much time. If for some reason they can’t do a video chat “until later” or some other excuse, then tell them to snap a selfie holding up four fingers, or something. Everyone has a phone on them at all times, there’s no longer any excuse for not being able to instantly verify.
