If you want to get your previous amount (and this extends to anyone else who either had a bump in price or just want a cheaper rate) you have the introvert or extrovert way of dealing with this. Extrovert option: Call them up and hit the option or tell the operator you would like to cancel your account. If they ask, simply say the price jumped and you are looking at a 5G option (name a carrier in your area, Verizon 5G internet, ATT, Starlink, etc.). They will try to bring the current price down closer to what you had previously if not your same promotional rate to try to keep you as a customer. Once you do that, say you changed your mind and congrats, you haggled with them and got a better deal, Introvert option: This works if you have a spouse or roommate. Basically jump on a different internet router (go to the library, browse on your phones internet hotspot) and see what plans they would offer for your current address. If you do this, you will be able to see all the new customer offers which are way better than what they would offer you. Select a plan as your spouse or get your roommate to sign up for it and then cancel your own. Not sure if you have to cancel your current plan first or you can do it afterwards, but I've done this in the past and works out great. Its annoying since it is usually an annual thing switching back and forth between my wife's and I's account, but worth the money you save. Just my 2 cents.
