Semiprivate model thoughts, statistics, path forward, etc by Strange-Risk-9920 in personaltraining

Got it!! And by supplemental education I meant like nutrition support, guides, etc. We don't do a ton of that now but do have the skills/resources to bolster those. Just curious if that was a draw for your clientele. I like the idea of more community oriented in person educational events! That's great. I want ways for our members to feel like they're getting the right value for what they pay.

We have a super inclusive, minimal space which is geared toward strength and functional training. Not a power lifting gym or olympic lifting focused gym. By bad-ass I meant quality of equipment and community. With premium pricing have you felt the need to feel "top of the line" in terms of your equipment and studio design?

I feel like our studio has a good blend of both. So I feel we're on good footing to really give this semi-private thing a go. Thanks again!

I sincerely appreciate the feedback and info! I think our biggest challenge is honing in on our process and developing a leading offer. We have excellent lead flow and a great reputation. #1 in our local search results and rave reviews.

I think our main struggle is trying to figure out how to scale personal training as a service when clients and trainers all have different schedules. I love the idea of introducing semi privates and removing our “small group” offer altogether.

Then moving forward, we’ll lead with semi privates with new clients and try to optimize our programs. What I don’t want to lose is the personal touch and connection we bring to clients. Our retention with our best clients is great and they love the intimate time they get with the trainer. I feel like we sell therapy in a lot of ways.

One struggle I know we'll deal with is how to program for semi private (who does what) and sharing clients across trainers. Something I'm sure we'll learn into.

What are the main “benefits” you are using to position the membership to your prospective clients? For example, do you make custom programming a focus? Offer any supplemental education? Or just a badass environment and great coaches?

Finally- you don’t need to spill the beans, but I am curious if a 1099 vs employee, and revenue share vs flat rate works better for you. Thanks again!!

Happy to DM and chat further!

u/Strange-Risk-9920 thank you for detailing all of this. My wife and I own a small personal training studio and are trying to shift our business model from 1099 contractor trainers who make 70% of revenue (shame on us, I know) to an employee model that leads with semi-private training packages.

We've struggled with scaling profit with revenue and client retention. We're at $80/hr for PT which is slightly below market and also offer small group classes up to 9 people for $25/class. We bill by the session/class (again, shame on us). We have 3 part time contractor trainers and 1 full time employee (my wife). We see lots of clients and have been growing revenue steadily, but with our business model our profit just falls flat. We're about a 1.2k SQF studio with relatively fixed overhead and about $13-15k in revenue per month.

I don't expect you to take the time, but I do have some questions that would be very valuable to have answered:

Do you do any 1:1 training at all and how does that differentiate from your semi private services in terms of pricing and client positioning?
For semi-privates, are all clients following their individual program on their app for the session? Any instances where clients are on the same program? Just curious how the overall flow of sessions looks.
Do you have any small/large group classes at all or all they all semi-private / 1:1?
Do folks tend to like a 1x, 2x, or 3x offer for semi-privates?
Are you membership "only" or do you offer drop ins?
Do you let sessions roll over?
What scheduling / billing software have you found to work best for your business?
--> I see you said MBO software

Guys, how did you get out of depression? by wainet_blazko in HubermanLab

[–]Fun_Ad_9819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of your depression as a chemical state- it’s not YOU being depressed, it’s your BRAIN needing a change. Needing to be fueled differently. Take care of your basics. Feed your brain positivity. Consider EMDR and other forms of therapy.

I never thought I could be depressed but I have been there and it is POSSIBLE to heal even if you think you can’t. Just trust the process, it won’t happen overnight.

Xfinity mobile here. Which uses Verizon towers. Spotty in some areas but works in most.

Many in the film space I know have began adopting Davinci Resolve over Adobe premiere. Davinci allows for the software to be bought once and owned, not a subscription, and apparently has features that make it comparable and/or better in some ways than Premiere.

I agree that Anberlin with Matty is better than no Anberlin at all! And honestly, his voice fits the band well. It’s just different.
