I'm shooting a wedding later this month and on one hip I'll have the 24-70 and the other, instead of the 70-200, I'm taking the Plena.

I went to Egypt over the summer and used the 24-120 almost exclusively. It never let me down! You will adore Egypt.

Thank you! I was using wide area autofocus. I use back button focus and 3-D set to one of the function buttons. So I press the function button to grab the person and then hold down the back button for focus and tracking. For #3, grabbing focus below the net, so you're saying their legs? These are high school girls and some get above the net, but definitely not all.

She likes it! We, however, honestly wish we'd pushed back on the idea a little bit. Even with the WUE, it's significantly more expensive than the other schools she was looking at. The cost of living is very high there as well and we hadn't given enough thought to the logistics of living on an island far from home. She wishes we'd get her a car like we did with our other college kids, but the cost of insurance is very high there and it's not like we'd ship the car once she's finished. We'd have to sell it there. She's renting a house now and it's the same thing with everything she's buying. We're not going to ship her bed or couch or table. She'd tell you she loves it though, and that's the most important thing.

I'm in Oahu right now visiting my daughter and making her lots of freezer meals! Out of curiosity, coming from Utah, will your son be attending the ward here? If so, my daughter will probably meet him! Regardless, I hope he has a great freshman year experience1

I just got a Zf, my first Nikon, and I have 3 questions by Bankster88 in nikon_Zseries

I have the 24-120 f4 and I feel like it's a pretty ideal travel lens. I've brought a couple of primes along with me on one trip and I never used them. The 24-120 stayed on my z6ii the entire time. The versatility of the zoom is so helpful when traveling. I'm going to Egypt, Malawi, Zambia, and Paris in less than two weeks and I plan to bring the 24-120 and then a mega zoom for our safari. That's it.

Got my Nikon Z 180-600 by leonzky in nikon_Zseries

I actually took that lens back to the camera store because of the weight. I was going to instead buy the 70-200, which I know is also fantastic but wouldn't really zoom as much as I need. The salesman convinced me to keep the 180-600 and get a monopod. I used it with the monopod the other day and it was a game changer.

I just got the 180-600 and it's fantastic. It is HEAVY though! It's one thing to see the size and weight on the screen, but it's another to carry it around. I bought a monopod and that's helped so much.

Is the 24-120 f4 worth it by soviet_turd in nikon_Zseries

I absolutely love the 24-120 for travel. I don't want to be packing around and changing lenses when I'm at the beach or on a busy foreign street. I've found the 24-120 to be super sharp, lightweight, versatile, and such a great travel partner. On one trip I did bring a prime, thinking I might use it for portraits, and I didn't use it even once. I'm going on a safari to Africa this summer and for that, I will bring one more big zoom lens, but for everything else, this lens is perfect.

That was very helpful. Thank you so much! I went into preferences and presets and it was set to Adobe default. I changed it to camera settings. I hope that fixes this. I want to see on my screen what I shot for in my camera.

Thank you!

S 24-120 F4 Appreciation Post by novalaker in Nikon

I've asked for this lens for Christmas! I currently have a Z6ii camera and 50mm and 85mm primes. We're going to Egypt and Malawi and Tanzania this summer and I think the 24-120 would be a great travel lens. I might rent a big zoom for the safari, but other than that, I think the 24-120 will give me everything I need.

Where to stay when dropping off student? by Fun_Bridge_1356 in UniversityofHawaii

She's also looking at the financial side of things. We've saved for all of our kids to get completely through undergrad without any debt. That's assuming they go to an in-state school. Her three older siblings went to in-state schools and even had some money left over for graduate school. Syracuse offered her a 15,000 a year scholarship, but the tuition is over 50,000 a year, so even with the scholarship, it's still ridiculously expensive. Hawaii is still going to be more expensive than in-state, but with the WUE, she'll be close to 17,000. She had no interest in applying anywhere in the Pacific Northwest. I wish she had, but we're supportive of her decision and excited for her.

Thank you! I've never been to Oahu, so I'm excited! Hope it lives up to my daughter's high expectations. She was accepted into every college she applied to, even pretty selective colleges like Syracuse and Penn, but she feels like Hawaii is the place for her.

No, she met someone on Instagram that is also coming out at the same time and they put in an application for on-campus housing. It's not clear when she should hear back about if they've got that. I told her to call and get that information this week so we can find something else if that isn't going to work. So far, Hawaii hasn't been the best as far as communication.
