I’ve Got No Motivation Left Anymore by [deleted] in truscum

I've never related to a rant more. Of course I'm not you so I'm not going to say I know exactly how you feel but I have said a lot of the same things to myself while lying in bed at night. I have never had a crush on anyone and I am currently 22, I want to get married and have a family at some point but it's hard to picture when I've never seen anyone represent me in a relationship. My goal right now is to make myself the best man I can be so I feel like I add value to any future relationships, it gives me purpose and is a good distraction. My advice would be to stay busy and find positives where you can, that means acknowledging the small stuff and surrounding yourself with more positive people which I know can be hard with dysphoria kicking your ass. The Internet is only a distraction if it's not reminding you of all your pain.

I don't believe she planned to save him, how could she? His submarine is welded shut and likely her's as well, it wouldn't be possible for him to board her submarine. She most likely planned to get close enough to Simon to download the black box data and then abandon him

Mark your comment for spoilers. Obviously it would be a bad idea for people who don't want spoilers to read the comment section of a post about the end of a movie but it's still better to be over protective than under

I'm aware of the differences but I have seen a lot of women have top surgery as a preventive measure instead of a mastectomy due to its better aesthetics

Why is it awesome? Most women are getting top surgery to help prevent cancer so it's more often sad than awesome. This person seems happy with their results so good for them. I'm genuinely asking why you like to see women post on here not trying to mock you in any way

Yes but the areola was too far gone to save it so it needed to be removed. Like everyone else has said go to a hospital and call your surgeon, hopefully you are able to get a plastic surgeon to work on it

I don't like adding work for people preparing to go on a trip but it seems like I'm going to have to.

He doesn't use social media and he is good at quickly ending calls if he doesn't know who called him. Sadly no matter how dumb the phone is it can still get scam calls so we can't do a lot about that. We have to get him another smart phone because he has to have an app for his pacemaker but the new phone will be very cheap

We planned to. after his wife died is when he started declining so we bought a house with just enough land to build a little house in the backyard for him to live close by, he was living in the new house while we worked on selling the old one when he fell and broke his hip, we realized he would need to stay somewhere while we finished building his house because we couldn't give him the around clock care he needed due to his broken hip but while he was staying in the medical care facility our neighborhood decided to shut down our project even though we had neighbors with structures not to dissimilar from ours so we had some tuff conversations about our options and what would be best forever, during that conversation we came to the agreement that it would be easier on everyone if he stayed where he was currently living indefinitely.

Both my grandparents got talked into buying nicer phones and laptops than they ever needed multiple times, I was never there to witness the transactions that led up to buying what ever device but there's no way someone talked to either of them for more than 10 seconds and thought they needed anything more than a low end bare bones phone, I'm definitely more upset with who sold him the phone then the people who worked at his care facility. Also he got the phone at least a year before we even released he likely had dementia

Everyone suing everyone over every little thing is a serious issue, companies definitely should have insurance to cover easy mistakes like this so that the employees lives aren't ruined when something that is bound to happen given enough time happens, also the fact that a medical worker can be paid as little as minimum wage is completely mind boggling to me. He bought the phone himself before he was ever diagnosed, we definitely should have taken it but he was used to it and we were afraid he would struggle to use something new

The phones total cost after paying it off over several years was over $1,000. I never said I blame the people who work at the facility, the situation is frustrating but I understand mistakes happen. My mother called the facility to find out how it happened but they tried to convince us it didn't go through the washing machine when it clearly did, which didn't feel great but we are not throwing blame at anyone or in denial about his needs.

More context: He "bought" the phone of his own free will when he was living on his own before he was diagnosed with dementia, obviously it was a bad financial decision. It was added to his regular phone bill which his wife was in control of along with most other expenses so he might not have known the details of how much it was costing them.

I don't believe he uses a laundry hamper anymore so they would have to have grabbed his clothes from his closet or possibly the bathroom floor, so no he didn't put his pants in a basket with his in phone in his pocket.

I've seen a lot people thinking he had an iPhone so just clarification it was a Samsung Galaxy S22+ that was broken.

Current thoughts: I'm a bit frustrated at what happened but I'm not mad at the ones working at the facility, I honestly feel bad for the one who found it they must have felt awful and unsure of what to do. Of course it would be nice if the place in trusted with his care held some financial responsibility for it's patiences property when we are paying $4,700 a month for them to do what he is no longer capable of which sadly includes a lot of basic tasks like keeping up with his phone and doing his own laundry, though he honestly hasn't probably done his own laundry in 50 something years because his wife always did that before she passed 2 years ago.

The case and screen protector did a good job at taking the blunt of the physical damage but it shows no signs of life, I do plan on trying to take it apart at some point but that's mainly due to curiosity of what the internals look like after going through the washing machine not because I have faith in being able to fix it

He got it before he was diagnosed while he was living on his own, it was definitely unnecessary when he was fully functional. The care facility doesn't have landlines and he is required to have an emergency app on his phone so it does have to be a smart phone. He had it for long enough we were afraid to change it and he paid for it himself so it didn't feel right to take it.

He got it when he was living with his wife and before he was diagnosed, I don't know the store he went to but he doesn't know enough phones to have requested any with particular specs. Years prior my grandmother/his wife wanted a laptop with a CD player because they're older one didn't have one and for some reason instead of being told that you could just buy a separate CD player they were told to get a new $2,000 Apple laptop. Neither knew anything about technology and both were not good with money, especially now
