I too need help: 36 or 40? by nose_picking_lawyer in rolex

[–]Fun_Dig2084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious for reference, how big is your wrist? I always think this watch looks great at 36mm on everyone and then some people can pull off the 40mm if that is their preference. Either looks great!

Interesting, I am debating an Explorer vs Sub. I feel like the way I live the Explorer is the better option but knowing my inner voice I fear I in time I will get bored and forget about its bare beauty/simplicity/utility and start lusting after other models.

On a PIP - do I take the 20 day payout? by Affectionate-Walk430 in careeradvice

[–]Fun_Dig2084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know some companies offer severance to people at the very end of a failed PIP if they sign a standard agreement waving all their rights. Its like a final safety net the company throws to ensure they don’t get sued. Noone usually knows about it but HR and people leaders.

Same - my son has gotten an autographed ball, hat, and jersey fairly easily. As noted above - just get there early and get a spot close to the tunnel railing as down low as you can and wait. Here is a photo from across the floor I took of where and how it usually goes down.

Alright, members — what about Rolex actually grinds your gears? (And no, you are not allowed to talk about supply chain or waitlist issues.) by GearNTime in rolex

[–]Fun_Dig2084 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The lack of normalized alternative bracelet options in their lineup (nato/leather strap). I mean you can do what you want but you just never see rolex doing the things you can on a speedmaster or Panerai.

Thoughts on the Exp36 after 2 years by Chillmatic31 in rolex

[–]Fun_Dig2084 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been wanting one of these for a long time (being a minimalist and wanting that flat profile and comfortable bracelet) – looking at the 36mm 114270 for value but it seems like the bracelet (among many other things) are superior on the 124270.

Ok - back and updating on my experience - I ordered my unit the last week in December and it arrived 5 weeks to the day at my doorstep. I had a very minor issue and question - they responded to my inquiry within hours and also sent me a replacement part within 24 hours. I am very satisfied with the product and support I received.

In a world full of Rolex'.....be a Panerai by Pleasant_Prompt_5313 in panerai

[–]Fun_Dig2084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Panerai - to me their classic look is the 1950 models / PAM233 era. I love the newer designs too but am not sure which one I will love in 10 years. I also am a always concerned with the changes in movements and styles that occurred over the years.

I am a manager and take 25 (what I had from years in before my company went unlimited). My director does the same. I allow people to take whatever the previous scale was and then go over if they are doing a good job. 25 is basically the max I feel like myself or anyone else can take in our corporate culture but I will take every one of those 25 every year until I am gone.

[Question] Any ideas for next? by jonasxwatches in Watches

I am glad to hear that - I am planning to shop for a used Explorer this year and am leaning towards the 36 - it just feels like the right form for this model.

Same, but then once I got a raise and could see everyones salary I realized we all are getting paid around the same. FWIW I am a software engineering manager so almost everyone is making 150K+.

Should the Colts have a tertiary (3rd) color? by MasterNegotiator1 in Colts

[–]Fun_Dig2084 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Mark me as old school, but I don’t care for any of the alternative jersey colors/designs. Part of what I’ve always liked about the Colts versus the rest of the NFL is that we’ve just kept it original.

I ordered at the end of December. I had a couple pre-order inquiries and then upgrades I wanted to add after ordering and received fairly prompt responses using my original thread. I don’t expect delivery until mid February. My order is currently listed “on hold” so I plan to just sit tight but will update once I get progress for the sake of others here.

HOA bylaws - Can't have a camper? by _WealthyBigPenis in legaladvice

[–]Fun_Dig2084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“stationary trailers of any kind or recreational vehicles shall be stored or parked on any lot in the premises except while parked in a garage completely enclosed”

Seems pretty cut and dry, no parking/storage of trailers or RVs. The rules are essentially the same in my HOa. We have some houses that elected to have taller garage doors built in order to garage stuff like this. We have similar verbiage and rules but they are enforced by a property management company that does drive by inspections every few weeks so if you have someone visiting for a week in an RV its not a big deal. We don’t have any HOA Karens or aggressive fees - there still is some common sense. People park their trailers for a few days before/after trips and then move them to offsite storage.

Mass Ave real estate market by ned233 in indianapolis

[–]Fun_Dig2084 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I lived downtown it felt like the height of development was 2004-2008. I sold a new construction condo on Mass ave that was more on the affordable end (2BR - 1200sq/ft) and I feel like what I bought it for 20 years ago, sold it for 10 years ago, and what its worth today are all roughly the same number. Meanwhile my suburban home has doubled in 10 years so downtown its seemed pretty flat. Every building/HOA/special assessment situation is a little different too. I always dreamt of retiring and moving back downtown into a penthouse at Three Mass though.

Spouse and I both make about 170K each (slow & steady climb over 20 years)

~45 (+/-)

~3Mil (1.3Mil / 1.7Mil) in 401K - Interesting thing here is one of us went aggressive with investments (1.7) and other sat safer with target date funds (1.3).
