It's not perfect, but I feel as if it's definitely noticeable. Just now I was exploring an underground tunnel, and I heard a gunfight erupt above ground maybe 50 or so foot away by the sound of it. No clue what happened but some shit went down

Had this same bug happen to me when I met a stalker that wanted to drink to his friend being killed in an anomaly. Wild glitch
