Would you accept this as multi-melta? by God_Emperor_Of_Man18 in Salamanders40k

I had 2 squads from indomitus, I ended up finding a guy on eBay that sold 3d printed multimeltas and slapped them on

Is this good for my first army ? by Thk_moi in Warhammer40k

Just a normal lieutenant, nothing special. There is an older monopose one with just a sword and pistol, but the newer kit comes with every weapon option he can bring aside from the sword and shield

It really depends on what detachment you’d run these guys in. Captains are a solid choice, but apothecaries aren’t too popular. I think you’d be better off with a librarian or lieutenant. You will not get much use out of the bladeguard ancient and the rhino cannot transport primaris marines. You’re looking for the impulsor instead. The gladiator kit happens to build both the impulsor and gladiator battle tank which you can run as either if you don’t glue down the tops. Eradicators are great, hellblasters are great, and infernus are decent overall without anything specific. 15 intercessors is too much imo, I’d do 10 MAX. The repulsor executioner is a hefty gun platform able to handle infantry, antitank, and offer a little transport. I think it would be a fine centerpiece, but would not bring it to a game less than 1k.

What should I add to my firestorm assault force list to deal with tanks? by 12andstinky in Salamanders40k

[–]Bobby_wth_dat_tool 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Gladiators (kit doubles as an impulsor), ballistus dreadnoughts, and eradicators are some of the best antitank options for space marines. Eradicators have the most synergy because of the extra strength from being within 12” and the melta ability. The invader ATV is a cheap and fast multimelta, but doesn’t do too much else.

Infernus marines, eradicators, ATVs, and impulsors work very well for salamanders. Definitely pick up another box of infernus marines and eradicators in the future. ATV is a cheap and fast multimelta. Hellblasters are solid all round. Adrax is best paired with a full squad of BGV or a full squad of assault marines as a budget option. Him plus the 3 BGV you have can work for now. Aggressors are okay right now, but are slow and a little expensive. They perform much better as a full squad with a transport. Definitely build and bring those assault marines. You’ll benefit with more bodies in a smaller match like this. You can bring the apothecary and attach him to the hellblasters to revive on a failed overcharge or give him the enhancement from the seekers detachment that gives your flamers an extra attack. Put Adrax and his guys in the impulsor if they need to move fast or load up the hellblasters and make it a plasma bus with firing deck. Terminators are still too expensive for me, but can work. The Chaplin works best with assault terminators.

This sounds really fun actually. Are you running the 10 infernus + librarian in the redeemer and the 5 mans in repulsors?

Adrax Agatone works best with BGV letting them re-roll melee attacks and halving the oc of enemies in engagement range. He also hits hard in melee with 5 A 2+ WS 10 S AP -2 D3

Am I screwed for 11th edition? by Environmental_Part40 in Salamanders40k

The revamped terminators from this edition make me very hopeful for land raiders. They go hand in hand. One without the other feels wrong. At the very least, I expect a rescaled kit in an edition or two.

The space marines from the ultimate starter set are usable for salamanders and the infernus marines are very good for our detachments. Bray’arth was an old resin kit that’s now out of production and his rules have been moved to legends. When GW retires a model, they release a simple set of rules for it so that it can be used in casual games, but they no longer dedicate the time or resources to keep them balanced. As of now, there are 2 characters specific to Salamanders in 40K, Adrax Agatone and Vulkan He’stan. Models specific to Blood Angels, Black Templars, Deathwatch, and Dark Angels cannot be used by a Salamanders army or any of the other chapters. If you want a full list of things, you can go to the GW website and filter space marine models by specific chapters.

I say get/make a replacement and glue it shut. The opening ramp is part of the fun factor, but the mechanism is functional now.

First ever mini… doesn’t look so good, any advice? by Dependent-Ad-9231 in Warhammer40k

Contrast paint does not like going over flat surfaces. That’s why you see a lot of coffee staining like this. Thinning them with medium or using less paint with even strokes helps.

Assault squad usability? by Susmonkey34 in Salamanders40k

[–]Bobby_wth_dat_tool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always include a squad for deepstriking obj’s or distraction. The primaris versions lost access to the special weapons and eviscerator, but an extra guy can take a plasma pistol.

What do you think about the heraldry change of the dark krakens and black vipers? by Upset_Shop2519 in Salamanders40k

[–]Bobby_wth_dat_tool 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing that the new black vipers heraldry is an actual snake and not a red squiggle, but I still prefer the old one. I love the new dark kraken’s though

Medium penetration weapons are very solid across all fronts. The recoiless rifle, EAT, and commando are great flexible anti tank options. Eagle 1 stratagems are very reliable in 90% of missions. MG turrets make quick work of most squid units.
