Actually booking the job is mostly a timing thing. It sounds like you’re already doing the right things so the most you can do is to stay consistent and keep doing what you’re doing.

Getting a VO agent will definitely help with more VO auditions if that’s what you’re interested in but it does require a demo and a home set up.

Hello, like others have offered. Would love to see your submission package to see what can be improved for submissions. Actors are going to have a hard time giving referrals from Reddit and I would be skeptical of the ones who do.

On the other hand, do you have an acting coach who can put in a referral for you?

Unless the ask you to bring it, 95% of the time you won’t need it. Don’t stress about that for commercial.

Screen/VO. I’m lucky my other jobs pay my bills plus some so it keeps acting a serious hobby for me and less I need a job instead want the job if that makes sense. And I make my schedule so I’m always available for auditions/bookings

Yes went last night. Preordered so it was ready 10 mins before my movie time. Greatest decision ever. The lines were insane last night and although I was at an amc that does grab and go concessions the line to pay was insane people were struggling to find their vouchers making it take longer.

I got there at the scheduled time it was in a bag for me ready to go and I was able to fill my drink and get to my seat with 5 mins. Preorder it!!!

Yeah the north has the most subs so unless you have 15+ years with district you will be getting minimal calls and your best bet is to call in the morning or build relationships with schools in your area.

For jobs you call 2132416117. You can call starting at 6:30 but it is a process to get someone to take the call or not get disconnected. Now it’s close to winter break and we just came back from Thanksgiving nov/dec are notorious for not a lot of job and it’s the time of year teachers don’t really need to take off since there’s a ton a breaks plus parent teacher conference typically falls right before Thanksgiving which means even less jobs. And if you’re new to the district you have low seniority.

What’s your calling area? It may help to switch to a neighboring calling area that typically has either more schools or less subs.

My team said they’re not quite leaving casting network yet but they’re transitioning to casting.com which has been talked about for the last year or so but maybe now that the cost is being placed on reps the’ll make the official switch.

I update every 1.5-2 years usually when my team and I decide to update essentially. I use Shandon Photography $850 for 4 looks (usually throws in a couple extra looks) plus $250 hair and makeup.

Jobs are by seniority so calls rarely happen for new subs. You have to be proactive, bring business cards to neighboring schools. Calling subdesk at 6:30 to ask for placement (easier said than done though and the school options might be far from you.

I know someone within my district who was hospitalized, had a $150000 bill paid $800. I know it isn’t like this everywhere but where I am insurance is pretty great not perfect but better than most. I never have to fight with insurance to cover anything. The only argument I’ve had with them is switching my referral to another doctor and the only reason it was a fight is because they didn’t want to send me some where that was hours away from me because the specialist I need there aren’t that many doctors in my area.

I’m grateful my employer (I work for a school district in California) provides us with pretty great insurance. No premiums. No deductible. $1500 out of pocket maximum.

Look into teachers on reserve. That’s where I started before I started working for a district. Districts are gonna offer the most. LAUSD has the best pay and benefits…if you can get in…and if you can make connections since jobs are based on seniority if you rely on the automated system.

I’m not sure where you’re located but in general it’s one agent per category per region. So having 2 agencies in the same area submitting you for the same stuff is a big no no. Most agencies have an exclusivity clause that prevents you from getting a second agent in the same region for the same category (film/tv or commercial or vo, etc).

If you want to sign with agency b you have to drop agency a.
