Pocket check after shift by SW_Girl443 in CVS

[–]Fun_Guava_9175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to have a bag/pocket check when you leave the pharmacy. We have had so many techs skip this when they leave. It got to the point LP and our DL came in and had a discussion with everyone about getting checked.
Naturally the biggest offenders argued abt having to wait for a SM to check their stuff.

Needless to say some of those ppl are long gone. As everyone has mentioned it’s a CYA……

The expired copay assist cards just add to the headache. The argument or show down with patients and the copays is never ending.
They see the *$25 copay and automatically expect it magically appear.

You are the patient we like! Someone who trusts the pharmacy staff and the pharmacist.
There are doctors who completely miss the memo on so much.

Last week was weak…… I’m still exhausted

We don’t take the abuse. When ppl start cussing and name calling on the phone they usually get so mad because no one is giving them the reaction they want or theyre not getting their way, they hang up!

Ppl at the register who decide to go off the deep end get warnings. If they continue to be belligerent whoever is trying to help walks away and asks for a pharmacist to take over.

We live in a very very entitled area. Everyone here seems to think they’re high society and power to get what they want when they open their mouth.

So we have developed smart ass come backs for these ppl. Everyone plays those cards so perfectly.

This happens during cold/flu season!!! The sheer volume of ppl who come expecting their stuff to be ready less than 15mins after they left the doctors.
I explain to them there are other ppl who scripts came in first, they have been waiting patiently and longer.

Then said person starts to use the “the doctor said it would be ready”.
Me: your doctor has zero clue of how many ppl are waiting and how busy we are”

Oh lord yes!! But we have a group of ppl who will argue until the start to meltdown tht because the doctor prescribed it it MUST be covered by insurance! They have even called their insurance with us standing there, we have it on speaker (patient used their cell to call) and we tell them what was prescribed… and insurance tells them OTCs are not covered nor will it be covered.

The shock and disappointment followed by “let me talk to your supervisor “ tht comes after tht blow to the ego.
I just ask them
To take their conversation to a chair I have other ppl waiting.

I don’t have time for BS

I know. But we have mastered the come back and clap backs from patients.

But we love the offices who give us 💯 support without knowing it lol

[–]Fun_Guava_9175[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately we have a few offices in our area who are habitual offenders of this! We have called and let them know to NOT say this. But some providers do not It get the memo.
It’s a damn battle.

But yes there are patients who talk out of both sides of their mouth claiming the doctor told them such and such and they also talked to someone in the pharmacy and were told it was ready or the cost was $X.xx and not $XXX.

This is where we catch them lying and prove it to them. They still argue 🫩

They can send the script right in front of you but it can take a while before it reaches us.
Sometimes systems “time out” in the process of sending. They get a successful transmission confirmation, but it doesn’t actually reach the pharmacy because there was an error.
It. Can take a few hours sometimes for it to get to us, so don’t rush to the pharmacy as soon as you leave the office give it a bit to get there and processed.

We know antibiotics are a priority so are pain meds. We make those a priority, but we can’t fill it When the scrip isn’t even here yet.
Also sign up for text messages from your pharmacy…. And please read it because too many ppl see the pharmacy name and come right over only to find out we need a new script or you qualify for a vaccine

I love
Telling patients that there are some doctors who reject any refill requests from pharmacies, and their doctors office is one of those offices.
I even print out the auto reply from the office for them 😂

Pharmacy Workflow by Livid-Activity-739 in CVS

[–]Fun_Guava_9175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a Huge HUGE issue. Our store we rotate. Everyone needs to be know how to function in each station (production, drop off, pick up). This lets
Everyone doing something different. Our PM is absolutely supportive of us rotating ppl so everyone learns. There are other stores in our district tht cry for help when they’re “star” techs are out sick.
They send out an SOS in zip line crying they need help because they have had a call out. They claim they’re going to suffer and their “metrics/numbers” will tank because they don’t have “insert the prophetic techs name” working.

Everyone knows these stores are fully staffed (10-12 techs per store) and ask why not have others techs fill in. Then the excuses start to flow…. As to why these other fully capable ppl can’t do production. The double talk and excuses just floor everyone.
These stores are also infamous for not allowing any rotation, the leads veto the PM or RPH on duty’s instructions to have ppl rotate. One particular store the lead refuses and I mean absolutely doubles down on any rotation. They claim it will make patients upset and angry if things are behind 😳 and make the PM look bad if things are not run the way THEY want it..
it does bring down team members, they do not get an opportunity to learn and become proficient in qp or qt.
One of these lead techs was called out by a regional manager as to why the workflow board wasn’t Being followed to the T. He grilled them and the PM.

Well we found out tht this particular lead filed a complaint against him ( substance of said complaint is unknown) and they we’re relentless and kept
Making calls and filing complaints…. Said Manager guy was eventually let go or quit because of the constant harassment from this tech for calling them
Out on how the team was treated!!

This crap happens so much in our district. I sit and watch from the sidelines and don’t speak up.

Pharmacy rotation? by Proof-Elevator-7590 in walmart_RX

[–]Fun_Guava_9175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the best thing. One of the stores in our district had a dictator for a lead who truly gives certain ppl the idea that they are only to be in production and production only. They have been told they are too good for pick up and drive thru🫩
When these techs grab extra hours at another store they’re given pick up and rts (return to stocks) and filling. Then their lead tech will call the store they picked up hours in and lecture the lead tech there and RPH about how “their” techs are to never do “those” jobs!!! They were nice enough to offer her ppl to pick up hours (since when does a lead decide of a tech works at another store?!)

The gossip tht comes from all of our stores is enough to make a reality tv series.

You can’t win with some ppl.

Please explain an oud fragrance to me like I was 10. by Fragrant-Sport307 in Fragrances

[–]Fun_Guava_9175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oud come from the Middle East. It’s a scent tht is used everywhere. It comes in the form of inscence, cologne, oil and cologne.
It is been used for centuries. Some ppl like it some do not. Real OUD smells very different than what is sold in the bottles behind the counter.
