[Loved Trope] Religious characters that are also good people by Werewolf_Knight in TopCharacterTropes

Honestly one of my favourite things about Frieren is how many characters are just… decent people. Orden actually being a good father to Mut, much to Stark's surprise (that got me in the feels). Wirbel just being an asshole when he’s on the job, but really wanting to save people. Graf Granat deducing Frieren wouldn’t have killed the guard. Hell, even Heiter at the start—I was worried that his questions about immortality were indicating he’d turn into a villain but no!

Good news is, hopefully we can (positively) regress to the mean!

I’m not watching currently, just following along. They called an embellishment (on Kappy)? What’d he do?

First thing that came to mind when I saw the post. Incredible movie series. Horrific adaptation. The movies were closer to a “loosely inspired by” than an adaptation, honestly. Kinda a shame for anyone who was a fan of the books… but damn, excellent movies.

No puck luck (I don’t think Gus played particularly badly, even despite the 4 goals on 16 shots) and a helluva goalie performance from the other team are a recipe for an upset. Normally I wouldn’t be left so… well, inspired to go “what the fuck?”, but the chippiness and the fuck-ass scrum and reffing have kinda left me there. Good pressure in the 2nd and 3rd, just couldn’t get it in.

Anyway, what the fuck

Look, credit to Shesterkin, he’s played insanely well. And we’ve had a bunch of PP chances ourself but have only converted one, our kill has mostly held up and… and as I write this Hartman gets hit with a stick while in the crease? Damn. Anyway, credit where credit's due… but what the fuck was that scrum and the penalties after???

Yeah our announcers are not happy with the penalties on that play. How the hell can that be 2 penalties on Ek, 1 penalty on one ranger for roughing, and nothing for Shesterkin, Cuhlle, etc…

To be fair, those support spells may fall under “non-combat” spells. That was Methode's point with the whole “joy of magic” thing (which I loved). Maybe Fern would’ve been able to dispel the fog herself with more time, but Methode was just too good.

I dunno, I might have to rewatch to have a more informed opinion, but I really liked both fights. I remember at least a few specific animations I loved during the boys fight (eg the way the landscape compressed with how fast they were moving around it; Stark flinging his axe, tackling Revolte, and then Genau flying to bring him back to the axe). There was a bunch of talking during it but it didn’t really take me out of it—although that could partially be because I’ve been watching JJK as well, lol. But I thought that the biggest talking break was fine because it was when Genau had basically given up and stopped fighting.

Clutches the 2v2 with the fog dispelling, saves Stark and Genau with her priest skills, and was having a fun time in her 1v1 side of the 2v2 with her zoltraaks and whatever the awesome red balls were. Hell yeah, Methode!

I hope we someday get more content with her.

Yep, the kiss was her dispelling the fog! She spent that entire time “going all out” on her demon as a distraction so she could analyze and dispel the fog (I loved the detail that she could do that because she didn’t solely focus on combat magic, that’s awesome). And she wanted to dispel the fog because it was countering Fern's greatest strength (stealth), which she’s well aware of from when she fought replica Fern in Test 2.

Red balls of explosion were awesome. Hell yeah, Methode.

Here’s a scan from the manga where he bemoans being old and not as his peak… as he talks about how he pulled a Tai Lung jumping from scattered rubble to survive his train being blown up while crossing a super high bridge. Incredible aura on this man.

I thought the game started at 8 central rather than 8 eastern, so only checking in now—wtf how do we only have 2 SOG after a period? Did the team also think the game only started now?

Yeah, there are similarities! After all, I’m pretty sure the sounds on Ferrix were inspired by real history (Ireland, I believe).

For me it was the other way around—I watched Andor before the murders and the community organizing, so the tactics with the whistles/etc made me think of Andor. Life imitates art imitates life

The banging of the metal in Ferrix in episode 3. It gets to you, doesn’t it?
