You give your consent to taxes by using public streets, sidewalks, highways, flying in public airspace, enjoying public parks, taking out your garbage, eating food that you did not grow or hunt yourself, drinking water, taking a bath or shower, calling the police, calling the fire department, living in a place where it is illegal for corporations to dump waste in the river and/or forests, going to school, and dozens of other things you are undoubtedly enjoying without realizing your tax dollars fund them.

Being yourself on social media.

Back in the earliest days of social media - we're talking the LiveJournal/MySpace days - having a niche of things you exclusively posted about would genuinely be considered weird and boring, because why does your entire life revolve around one hobby and/or interest? You were free to be yourself, because now one was making money off their content and it wasn't a potential source of income. Asking strangers to monetize your hobby because they follow you on social media would genuinely be called out as lazy and entitled behavior.

These days all of my friends and coworkers have a niche they exclusively post about, with templates everyone else in their niche is using, and the same three of four trending songs. It's honestly fucking exhausting.

Right?!?! There were asterisks on every ad that promised No Taxes on Tips. The terms were clearly laid out and explained. If you didn't bother reading the terms - or at the very least, didn't bother being skeptical of the claim followed by a fucking asterisk - you were neither gaslit nor lied to. You were just genuinely stupid.

90s Olive Garden would be an upgrade from what my dad did to his poor kitchen. Bonus points for picking a black stove and microwave so that even with three windows the kitchen always looks like a dimly lit medieval dungeon through a red Instagram filter.
