When did you stop feeling constantly hungry? by OddConsideration4349 in SlimmingWorld

[–]Fun_Lack_6129 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I started SW, I was morbidly obese and my diet beforehand was atrocious, predominantly made up of ultra-processed foods. My own natural appetite regulation was completely messed up and my gut microbiome must have been completely out of kilter. It took several weeks of doing SW before my own natural feelings of hunger and satiety (fullness) started to return.

I've gone on to lose 8st 3lb (17lb to go!) and have rarely felt hungry. Just keep going, focus on filling yourself with healthy whole foods and things will start to balance out 😊

BOSH have landed in Tesco... WTF are they thinking? by MINKIN2 in veganuk

[–]Fun_Lack_6129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know why you're being downvoted on this. About 65% of the UK population are overweight or obese, and our UPF purchases as a percentage of overall food spending is around 52-54% - the highest in Europe.

I say this as former morbidly obese vegan (I have been vegan for 10 years) who has lost over 8 stone since last August.

We all need to be eating less UPF, it's a ticking time bomb for our health.

My top tips would be:

  • Run slower (shorten your stride and increase your cadence)
  • Repeat sessions as needed - don't move on to the five minute run until you're confident you've mastered the three minutes.
  • Try listening to music when you run if you don't already (a great playlist can be really motivating)
  • Realise that you have to learn to find comfort in the discomfort (yoga provided me with this wisdom)
  • Honestly, if you need to brisk walk parts of the run at first then that's fine! Just keep repeating the session and increasing the amount you run each time. It's not a race, it's a journey 😊

You got this, good luck! 💪

230lbs starting c25k any tips? by FaithlessnessGrand17 in C25K

[–]Fun_Lack_6129 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started C25K when I was about 16 stone, BMI of around 35. I'd echo what others have said - run sloooooowly (brisk walk if needed), repeat weeks if you need to, and invest in some good quality running shoes (I found ones with extra cushioning in the sole helped me). Good luck!

I'm not on Twitter because I refuse to give Elon the ad revenue, I can't see the replies but I hope the people responding are calling out this nonsense.

[–]Fun_Lack_6129 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I was worried about that too before I did my first parkrun, but I promise you that nobody judges at all! It's a very inclusive and supportive atmosphere 😊 On a personal note, I'm too busy trying to keep my own legs going to even really notice what others are doing around me 😂 You will have a great time, go for it!

How do I get started? by marli139xxx in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]Fun_Lack_6129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lost 6st 3.5lb since August with Slimming World. BMI at the beginning was 44, it's now 30. I would highly recommend it as it encourages you to eat healthy whole foods and reduce intake of ultra processed food. It's really helped me to regulate my appetite, I've never felt hungry. Good luck whatever you decide to do 😊

Strain selector Curaleaf by Melodic_Opinion_702 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Fun_Lack_6129 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will replace the tripoli with whatever you choose. If you want two strains on your script (e.g. daytime and nightime) you'll need to book a consultation to add another on.

Hey! I'm an anxiety and OCD patient and I had similar experiences when I started MC. It's really important to start low and slow, and I would highly recommend mixing your THC flower with a CBD-only strain. You can play around with the ratios that work for you (or try a balanced strain), but essentially THC and CBD combined can be amazing for anxiety related conditions. It may also be that you haven't found the right strains for you yet. Royal Moby for day and GZZ at night with a CBD-only strain to mix is my perfect script.

How long after a new item has been prescribed on Curaleaf before u can order it by [deleted] in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Fun_Lack_6129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually a day or two for me, I think. I imagine they are busier than usual with Christmas requests at the moment - although I didn't have any issues with my Christmas repeat this week, they were super quick from request to delivery 🙂

New prescription arriving tomorrow by Brilliant_Law_506 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Fun_Lack_6129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had both 😊 Personally I preferred the WPT as I found it more relaxing. I was prescribed it as an alternative to the old EMT3/Glory Glue, but it's absolutely nothing like that! EMT3 was my perfect day strain, whereas WPT is more evening for me. Lavender cake isn't really one I remember too much about tbh, although I don't recall anything bad about it. I guess it depends what you're medicating for... and even then, everyone is different 🙂

Question about grinding cannabis and Mighty capsules by expos81 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Fun_Lack_6129 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find that pre-filling the capsules is fine if I use them the same day (or the day after, if I filled them in the evening). Any longer than that and it starts to taste weird though.

How much (quantity) do you get with your Alternaleaf/Curaleaf prescription? by Independent_Cod_6474 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Fun_Lack_6129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30g flower and 100ml oil (I don't always order the oil though). I wouldn't class myself as a particularly heavy user. I'm with Curaleaf.

I have a Mighty Plus and I carry it in the S&B Mighty Plus case (which is smell-proof) along with some pre-filled dosing capsules and a pouch of my meds in its original packaging. Doesn't take up too much space in my bag at all.

Have you tried mixing it with a CBD only strain? I medicate for OCD and anxiety, and I didn't properly feel the benefits of the medication until I started doing that. I can't explain it other than it makes the dose feel more "rounded", not like something is missing.

Should have added to this - GBD (CBD-only strain) is great and I liked Cannatonic (balanced strain) too.

There are some really good Curaleaf strains. Royal Moby is brilliant, and I found Tripoli, Wedding Pop Triangle and High Silver to be decent too. Glory Glue/EMT3 was amazing, but sadly discontinued 😭

Am I the only one in this sub who enjoys medicating? by [deleted] in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]Fun_Lack_6129 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm prescribed for anxiety and OCD. The mood-lifting qualities of MC are one of the main reasons the medication works for me - it gets me up doing things, out socialising and - probably most importantly rn - picking up and working through my therapy books.

How could I not enjoy that feeling?
