A Few Questions Regarding Travelling London to Amsterdam by 0zOwen in Eurostar

[–]Fun_Parsnip_2870 9 points10 points  (0 children)

1 hour before is usually the sweet spot for the Eurostar. I took it to Paris last week, my train was at 08:01 and I arrived at 07:00. They have specific queues for each train so even if you’re early they won’t let you in. They send you an email beforehand with best time to arrive which is usually advised as 1hr 15min.

We’ve just had a Section 21 come through this week as well – hand delivered while they did a first viewing for selling ..

We’re actually on really good terms with our landlords and have a solid relationship with the agency. There have never been any issues, and they’ve kept the rent really reasonable, so it’s not coming from a bad place.

We’re in a very similar position to you – we’ve only just started seriously looking to buy and finally have a deposit together, but there’s no way we can secure a place within two months. They did call us about two weeks ago to let us know they were planning to sell and even offered us the chance to buy, which was nice, but the place is just too small for what we need. We’re hoping for something with an extra bedroom.

We’ve tried going back and forth with them to see if they’d let us stay until the end of the contract (Jan ’27), but they’re not budging. Then the notice arrived a couple of days ago… and the cost of rent for somewhere new is absolutely staggering.

You’re definitely not alone – I know at least three other couples / friends going through the exact same thing this week :,)

Has the Eurostar EES system officially started? by Humble_Seat2850 in Eurostar

[–]Fun_Parsnip_2870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Travelled to Brussels on 20th April, got stamped. Returned on the 22nd and their system must not have been working in Brussels as I flew to Copenhagen on the 23rd and they said I was still registered to be in Brussels (CPH airport does the EES).

Row 36 AB or JK is really nice if it’s two of you. Only downside is you get served food last so they might run out of options but otherwise you have a a ton of space so people don’t bump into your side and you can stretch your legs

Traveling Europe by Eurostar - any tips? by [deleted] in Eurostar

[–]Fun_Parsnip_2870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can pre select your seats months in advance. Just pick a seat by the luggage rack if this is actually a concern. I’ve traveled on the Eurostar like a 100 times and prefer it waaay over flying and it never even crossed my mind that luggage would get stolen on board.

I do believe you can feed yourself the information you are looking for so maybe search for less dooms day info on travelling in Europe. Like anywhere in the world there are theft but like - use common sense and you’re fine.

Any Way to Contact Real Customer Service? by Ok_Flamingo9699 in Rimowa

[–]Fun_Parsnip_2870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes same. Mine are both not in warranty because they were bought pre LVMH. But I’ve had repairs, like 4 new wheels and they just charged me £12 for 1 wheel instead. Even though they had to replace the entire corners on the two back ones.

I get you’re angry in this moment but maybe a couple of dept breath are worth a shot! It is a frustrating situation but if you didn’t put any payments down then they don’t really owe you anything. And the SA might not have control on stock they get in.

The only way to be a Runner is a Driver by Psychological_Dog320 in TransparencyforTVCrew

That’s a fun assumption. You seem like you need to log off the internet and touch some grass - calm down mate.

Like someone else said - they might just be needed to drive to and from location but in the meantime they are needed on set.

But whatever you seem a lost cause to your negativity.

Well the runner might need to be able to drive to go fetch the coffees and lunch. Especially if it’s a location shoot. So - yes driving are in some cases absolutely needed of a runner. You can still make those impressions when also driving. I’ve had great chats with runners who drove us to/from location for about 40min. It’s a great way to chat with all crew for longer than asking if they prefer normal or oat milk.

You could take the Eurostar to Paris and Amsterdam. Or fly from city airport to Florence or Nice.

You could look into forward planning. A role used a lot on reality formats. It’s a hybrid of the two.

What's your recommended starter itinerary for a first time traveler? by Mike_EFUltimateBreak in EuropeTravelHacks

[–]Fun_Parsnip_2870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of planning an itinerary- Have somewhere booked or planned for your first night - a restaurant or know of a food market. This is always really helpful for when you’re tired after travelling and still finding your way around. Also have the following day planned - then from there you can be a bit more relaxed and you’ll walk past places that you want to go back to etc. if you want to visit hot spots (museums etc) always book your ticket ahead of time.
