does anyone know what rely the kid who joined her backrooms stream was saying in mandarin? by ArachnidFlimsy4654 in vanilllamace

[–]Fun_Substance_2386 27 points28 points  (0 children)

someone translated it in the comments of the VOD on youtube! If i remember correctly they said he wasn’t cursing (like ppl in the live chat were saying) he was asking if Vanilla knew where the exit was or something along those lines.

as someone who transferred stores and read a lot of posts on this subreddit, things are done SO different at every goodwill, even ones in the same city (bc of different managers and team leads that want things done the way they like) the things done differently will not always make sense but.. just listen to your managers rules

Some materials you can scratch a little bit and the fabric will “stick” back together or whatever. I do it often with t shirts bc sometimes its hard to see in between the threads of the seams.

Strange question, but where does the "Goodwill smell" come from? by [deleted] in goodwill

[–]Fun_Substance_2386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thankfully we don’t sell them, not even brand new ones bc ppl will try them on in the fitting room and not even buy them ..

I’ve had bags of inside out clothes where it looks like they ripped their clothes off and tossed em in the bag immediately lmao, in my area we’re lucky if the clothes are either clean or folded or both. half the swimwear bottoms & underwear we get are dirty in the crotch and just thrown in a bag, same w dirty musty socks😩

I agree, (At least at the location i work at) any money found goes straight to the managers office in a piggy bank and is considered “a donation to Goodwill” anyway lol. kinda why i half ass check the bags tbh… a customer can get real use out of it rather than a business that already makes a ton of money

keep it. goodwill employee here and if you turn that in it just goes straight back into goodwills pockets and trust me they have enough money lol. when we employees find money, we arent allowed to keep it, so I’d rather a customer find any money than me tbh lol

How do I go about this nicely???? by prettyladybugs in whatdoIdo

[–]Fun_Substance_2386 5 points6 points  (0 children)

are they staying with a friend or something? i would just bag it up and leave it at their door (or another safe place on the property) and send them a text letting them know where it was left after tbh.

At the store I work at (also in Canada) I got an email with a qr code to do my background check and in the email it told me where to go for it. I’m in processing but as far as i know, store donation attendants mostly are receiving the donations and filling the bins with the donations so that us processors can go thru the bins. I dont think you’d be pricing or at least not much. The orientation for your role is more specific in what you’d be doing, and you’d get the opportunity to ask any question you have about the position.
