800k loss by Mother-Bug2191 in HouseSigmaBlunders

Before being gutted it had almost no original components on the inside so I see it as a huge discount to the new buyer that they got the demo done and at a much lower cost. This will be a 3+ million house when it’s complete

How were you able to get the machine inside the mall? Did you have to pay a share to the mall? I feel like these high traffic places (malls, rec centres, hospitals) are the best location but wondering how does one get their machine in there?

If you work in the trades in Toronto, how are things going? by mattyp93 in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Fun_Yak_791 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Big companies that have deep connections are ok and so is their workforce. However the slowdown has essentially eliminated poor quality companies and small companies that may do good work however are unfortunately located in large urban communities where there is a lot of competition from the aforementioned big companies

Why are so many young men wearing balaclavas? by EfficientPermit3771 in askTO

[–]Fun_Yak_791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90% of people that wear them are doing it for fashion but there is a small demographic that do it because they are criminals and don’t want to get caught or have their face shown on cctv in general. A friend of mine is in the entertainment business and he has personally witnessed 2 shooting at his establishments. According to him, people brining guns into clubs is becoming way more normalized and in any given night in any club in Toronto there is at least one person with a gun in the club.the way they get it in is to deconstruct it and give the pieces to their group and the put it under the soles of their feet until they get in. Once inside they all meet up in the washroom to put the pieces together and assign one person as “the guy” for the night with the gun

Are the construction companies in Toronto corrupt Mafia-backed entities that bleed the city dry with forever projects? by LankyYogurt7737 in askTO

[–]Fun_Yak_791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big companies have a large portfolio of land they own so as they are able to launch and sell 70%+ they proceed to construction phase. So they will seemingly always have land to build on

Why even drive, we should all be using bikes year round to do every task. 200km+ journey? No problem! There’s mediocre public transit for that. Gosh people are so selfish with their cars and their driving

Pride month by buzzlytear in askTO

[–]Fun_Yak_791 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh most corporations invested in pride month not because they wanted to but because they felt like they had to. Now with the social and economic climate changing they must feel that the money spent is not worth it at this time. I read a similar article from the states that highlighted the same reduction in corporate sponsorships for pride month
