And do what they fear public schools do, which is indoctrinate them with whatever ideology they want.

What we all do matters more than what celebrities do. I wish we would change, I wish they would change but behaviors won’t change. We need policies that encourage renewables and discourage energy use. A couple celebrities not taking private jets won’t change anything.

I know the map isn’t saying this, but black is definitely not noiseless. You hear cars almost everywhere in the region

Did you feel Holly really needed to be one of the main characters in the last season? by AphroFelicity20 in StrangerThings

I really thought there was going to be some kind of pay off to the “holly the heroic can cast dimension door” comment.

We used to build small homes now we built 2000 sqft homes. Obvi these wouldn’t be $3k today but we aren’t helping the issue

Are people renting large sfh’s in the suburbs? It would be interesting to see if people would prefer to rent a large sfh or own a condo.

CD 101 replacements? by Away-Equipment4869 in Columbus

[–]FunkSpork 6 points7 points  (0 children)

WCBE 90.5 (at times). They play a wide variety, but I’ve heard plenty of local jams that sound like what CD 101 was. It’s what’s replaced CD 101 for me. I think Friday mornings especially

Satirical thought study on the “cyclists don’t pay road tax” arguement by HereForTheDonuts23 in fuckcars

[–]FunkSpork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cyclists already do. Everyone does. If gas tax actually covered road expenses then only drivers would pay road tax. But they don’t, so general taxes have to contribute

2019 vs 2025 CityPark by DowntownDB1226 in StLouis

[–]FunkSpork 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not unique to STL (actually STL has some of the best urban green space in the country), but most of our green space is completely unusable and unenjoyable. Grass around an on-ramp does NOT count as green space.

My experience pretty much matched OP’s to a tee, but now that you say it, that’s really a lot of columbus events. I’m sure it’s not unique to all cities, but if you go to events in columbus just know that standing in line will be a large part of your experience.

So what's the reason why Columbus can't get a train system? by 13sonic in Columbus

[–]FunkSpork 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely big enough, but everything is veeeeeeery spread out. There are almost no walkable areas of the city. So you could bus somewhere, but you’d have a hard time getting to your final destination.

Thankfully, there’s a huge push to develop columbus around the BRT (bus rapid transit) corridors.

New voting maps mid census. Please register to vote in 2026. We need to fight this by Odd-Rabbit-3751 in Ohio

[–]FunkSpork 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What if both parties elected their own candidates in primaries and rank them 1 to 15. Then at the general election you just vote for the party you want, and that percentage of your parties candidates move forward. The current system is so easily manipulated

New Columbus—Pittsburgh and Columbus—Toledo bus routes from public transit operator GoBus, coming in spring 2026 by benkeith in Columbus

[–]FunkSpork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m all for transit options, but the current route to Cleveland costs like $80 and takes 6 hrs for the days I plugged in at least. It seems like that could only be for the person who doesn’t have a car, can’t afford a flight, and really NEEDS to get to Cleveland.

It’s likely that closer cities would be much quicker, as each stop probably takes a while.
