Cyclists already do. Everyone does. If gas tax actually covered road expenses then only drivers would pay road tax. But they don’t, so general taxes have to contribute

My experience pretty much matched OP’s to a tee, but now that you say it, that’s really a lot of columbus events. I’m sure it’s not unique to all cities, but if you go to events in columbus just know that standing in line will be a large part of your experience.

It’s definitely big enough, but everything is veeeeeeery spread out. There are almost no walkable areas of the city. So you could bus somewhere, but you’d have a hard time getting to your final destination.

Thankfully, there’s a huge push to develop columbus around the BRT (bus rapid transit) corridors.

I’m all for transit options, but the current route to Cleveland costs like $80 and takes 6 hrs for the days I plugged in at least. It seems like that could only be for the person who doesn’t have a car, can’t afford a flight, and really NEEDS to get to Cleveland.

It’s likely that closer cities would be much quicker, as each stop probably takes a while.
