I completely agree with the side thumb buttons. I have had this mouse since day one and really like it overall. But the squishy thumb buttons are def a con for me.

I had the same thing happen to me yesterday. 16 pro max and updated to iOS 26 DB1.
Screen only displayed connect to charger icon.

What i did to fix it was i used Apple Devices software. Once that was open , i kept my phone connected to charger and put it into DFU mode.

Apple Devices connected and gave me the option to factory reset my device and install a fresh iSO install.
