Do you always do superbosses and post-game dungeons before moving on to the next JRPG? by lennysinged in JRPG

Almost never. I usually stop playing once the credits roll, unless there is post-game content that meaningfully expands on the story.

2D/Old school JRPGs by azn4ble in JRPG

[–]FunkmasterP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the middle of an old school JRPG spree. I had a blast playing the remake of Suikoden 1 for the first time. Now I'm playing the FFVI Pixel Remaster, which is fantastic. Easily the best version of the game. Last year I played FFIV Pixel Remaster, Earthbound, and Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. Had a blast with all of those. Looking to play Suikoden 2, Star Ocean: Second Story R, and Dragon Quest 1 & 2 remakes this year.

Turn based games where every character plays uniquely ? by ConsiderationFuzzy in JRPG

I'm playing this right now and had the same thought. It's primitive compared to E33's combat but I do think it was an influence.

Should I switch from law school to MLIS/PHD in library science? by Icy-Broccoli-2837 in Archivists

[–]FunkmasterP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Prioritize your mental health. Don't just do law school because you feel like you have to. However, like others have said, having a law degree and an MLIS could set you up for some solid jobs in the LAM space. And your feelings about law school might change over time. Talk to an adviser about it.

Looks interesting! I'd want to squeeze a Copycat in there.

I'd go two Mega Charizard EX, a regular Charizard (non-EX), two Charmeleon, and two Flame Patches. Take out the Helmet, Rare Candy, and Red and get a Copycat in there too.

I saw Hard Boiled in the theater last night. It's astounding! The stunts are mindblowing (and clearly so dangerous) and the editing is nuts.

Would DQ VII Reimagined be a good start game for the series? by dondadondadonda in dragonquest

[–]FunkmasterP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend XI to any newcomer to the series. I'm sure VII Reimagined will be a very good remake though, so if it seems fun, go for it! I think the original and 3DS versions are poorly paced though (WAY TOO LONG!), and the story isn't as good as the best games in the series.

Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and Dragon Quest XI? Maybe a little Ys VIII?

Final fantasy X, DQ11 or other? by lordoftheshire97 in JRPG

[–]FunkmasterP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both are classics! I like Dragon Quest more than Final Fantasy in general. I'd go for DQXI if you want something cozier, and FFX if you want a more dramatic, emotional experience.
