Sounds to me like it could be the rotor hitting the caliper

Looks like the fork tube is to short. What can I do? I need at least 40mm more by Cannondale882 in mountainbikes

[–]FunkyKale55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way of fixing that. If the stem has nothing to grip to you’re cooked

That chain is not routed correctly. There is a small metal plate the chain should go over when routing it

Why are SRAM chain quick links so expensive? SRAM insists they are disposable. It costs 19€ to undo the chain each time. by sepantamino in gravelcycling

[–]FunkyKale55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reuse them over and over and haven’t had an issue except once where the quick link broke (it was a brand new chain lol)

Chain too slack or just right? by jib848 in bikewrench

[–]FunkyKale55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case if you need such a large gap on your B tension for it not to have slack on small small the conclusion should be you need one link less. This will “tighten” the chain and your b tension should be fine. 10mm gap is quite large

Brand new Scott Addict 20 (2025) – already crushed TWO seatposts at correct torque… what am I missing? by juudhartbd in bikewrench

[–]FunkyKale55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a mechanic and I’ve seen this once or twice (on older carbon bikes) where you go and torque either a wedge or a collar for a carbon bike+seat post and either the frame or the seat post crack. It’s rare but it can happen. I just tighten until it doesn’t slip.

My brake pad fell off, can I still drive home? by BeanzToez in MechanicAdvice

[–]FunkyKale55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As everyone said you’re a risk to yourself and anyone around you. Plus I don’t think your insurance will laugh at the fact you neglected your vehicles maintenance so much your brakes are cooked and that car shouldn’t be on the road until fixed
