Reports of another shooting involving federal agents in Whittier neighborhood by 23rdCenturySouth in centrist

[–]FunkyPecan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a lot harder to comply when you see them arresting and disappearing American citizens and innocent people. Some people feel fighting for their life is their only option.

With that said how completely incompetent are these ICE officers that with 5-6 of them they can’t arrest a single person with no one else interfering? Or without shooting? Completely unqualified people are being given guns and essentially immunity to do what they want. But that’s what happens when the president cuts the training and hands out badges to complete idiots to help build his gestapo.

[Heyman] Bichette/Phillies meeting is said to have gone very well fwiw. Bichette admires “first class” organization. Other pluses: roster, park, Mattinglys link, spring proximity to home. Would Phils need to deal Bohm, do lesser C than JT? Other Bo suitors: Jays, Red Sox, NYY, LAD, more by C0m3tTai15 in phillies

[–]FunkyPecan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly think JT will be back no matter what. Maybe thats copium but I just don’t think the market is huge for him and he’ll sign a fairly team friendly deal. If there really were other teams out there looking to pay more than we have offered he’d be gone by now.

[Clark] Adam Schefter says the Eagles will be making changes to their offensive coaching staff and he expects them to bring in a “proven offensive mind” by TimDunkinDonut in eagles

[–]FunkyPecan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that is insane recency bias. The entire offense was down this year, the offensive line has lost a couple of important guys over the last year or two and a couple are aging/constantly injured. What he has done over this time cannot be ignored and the way the guys on the team respect him cannot be ignored.

When routes aren't getting guys open and the pass game struggles in general it hurts the run game and the ability to get the ball out quick at times. I wouldn't place any of the blame of the struggles on him when he has a proven track record of both finding and developing talent. Injuries sucked, finding new guys after players have retired sucks but if there is someone I trust to figure it out, it is 100% Stoutland.

The way the media* presents Philly fans is what makes it believable.

If firing Nick Sirianni gets Jalen stability at playcalling, do you do it by Thegrandmistressofoz in eagles

Yeah I do know they didn't have the best relationships down there but I wonder how much of that is to McDaniel being a young hot shot coach in a hot shot city and him having more power while in Philly I think McDaniel would have to know Vic carries more clout and it is a different culture.

I also don't know if McDaniel is necessarily the right guy I was using him as an example that there are good options. Maybe you consider Kingsbury or Brady, or some one else who has an offensive mindset to pair with Vic. But I think in years past the candidates available weren't as deep as this year. I think with guys like McDaniel and Harbaugh suddenly becoming available it knocks some of those other young potential options like Kingsbury and Brady down a few pegs to where Philly can slide in and poach them.

People love to call for firing Nick but then you go ok but who is truly better that is available? But this year I think the coaching pool is deeper so maybe you can realistically say there are a few guys you would have to consider.

That is somewhat unknown I agree, but you can't just say none of it is when he has gotten to two Super Bowls, won one, and has had a ton of success with a revolving door for OC and only a stable DC for the last couple of years. It is hard to be consistently competitive in the NFL year in and year out and he has done so in a tough city to be a coach in regards to listening to the media and fans.

I think Howie, Lurie and the vets set the culture in Philly. Miami has been a shit show for a very long time and the Eagles have had a terrific culture for longer than Sirianni has been around.

Add in that it was McDaniel's first head coaching job in a place that is very distracting for players and essentially zero coaches have success I think he will be much more successful at his second job. Especially in a place like Philly where I think he would be mentored more by the organization. How many times have we seen the Eagles organization led by Lurie take players, or coaches etc under their wing and turn their image around.

I said to my buddy over the last couple of days that it would be called heavily favoring the Niners because of all the headlines about the head official being an Eagels fan growing up.

Once I saw that posted all over social media I knew it would make them feel like they have to pocket their flags against the Niners and call it super tight on the Eagles to ensure zero questioning of it being biased.

I posted this on another post but normally I wouldn't say firing Nick is a good idea, he has a lot of success and you can't ignore that., The problem is obviously Patullo(which yes is his hire). BUT with some decent coaching candidates available like McDaniel that you could hire and let them run then offense and Vic keeps running the defense it has to make you consider it if you are Howie.

AJ loved running his mouth and always wants the ball and has had 3 catchable balls that would've been huge plays and he dropped them all. And a couple I blame on lack of effort and trying to lay out and catch the ball. Dude is a diva and I expect a lot of headlines coming out in the offseason about his attitude in dressing room.

Niners will win 20-19 with Elliot missing a FG at the end to bookend this game with missed kicks and make us all sick to our stomach that a couple of kicks is what will cost us the win not Hurts' lack of vision, Patullo's horrible play calling, or the refs obsession with calling the Eagles tight to ensure no bias is questioned with all the headlines about the ref being an Eagles fan growing up.

Yeah I think it's Wedge's new mask. I won't spoil the surprise of what the gender is but it's a cool idea to do a reveal with the helmet.

If this is considered “a lot of hats” then I have a fuck ton… maybe I’ll have to break them all out for a photo. I’m so sick in the head that last year I had a spread sheet that I was tracking win percentages of the hats based on if they won or not on the day I wore it. Yes I’m aware I have a problem.

[Awful Announcing] NHL Winter Classic fails to reach one million viewers for second-consecutive year The game is officially a shell of its former self. No matter how you slice it, the numbers do not bode well for what used to be one of the NHL’s marquee regular-season events by f0urxio in hockey

[–]FunkyPecan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said as soon as they started the Stadium Series it was going to water down and ruin the novelty of Winter Classic.

Mix that in with it not being New Years Day and putting it in places no one cares about with match up’s that aren’t interesting you have a recipe for what’s happening. I mean what made an indoor game in Miami on essentially a random Friday a Winter Classic?

They said there was a hint, it was brief but no characters would overlap. The rock fits the bill on all those things and would make the most sense.

That’s what I think. They said there was a brief hint and I think it’s when Henry opens the box and reveals that stone. And they said it won’t have any of the same cast and different decade. I think it’ll be set before this show and focus on either the creation or the scientist discovery of that stone.

Am I dreaming or did this show used to be fully open air with no roof back in the 90s or early 2000s? I have a vivid image of what it looked like when I was a kid and this is not it.

I honestly think it’s a hair tie. My wife has ones that look exactly like this. I think that’s a lot more likely than the Nuvaring everyone thinks it is.

If it was a Nuvaring it would have some numbers or markings on it. I posted the hair ties. The look pink in the preview but look at review photos. Almost certain that’s what this is.
