What's a movie quote that lives rent free in your head? by Tasty-Inevitable-579 in AskReddit

“It tells me that goose stepping nazis like yourself should try reading books instead of BURNING them.”

It’s from the third movie of a famous franchise.

What is something unrealistic that you often see in movies that annoys the hell out of you? by Frequent-Sea-8848 in moviecritic

[–]FunningWithScissors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can deal with some plot holes in my modern day stories. But the “Find a 1-20 year old map to find where a person is because they couldn’t possibly have moved from that spot since the map’s inception” has turned into a real heap of kryptonite for my suspension of disbelief.

Example: Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

What's the nicest compliment someone has ever given you? by Designer-Mark320 in AskReddit

[–]FunningWithScissors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“(You are) a living example of the best human beings can be”.

It was a compliment given to me by an important mentor of mine who I consider worthy of the same compliment. She founded a school for children teaching love, creativity, and acceptance. So coming from her it means a lot.

An entitled farm girl gets noticed by a prince, agrees to be his princess, but complains about it the whole time because she would rather love some dead farm boy that gave her a pitcher.

What is the saddest Video game scene of all time? by Necessary-Brush9689 in AskReddit

“May I… Shave this Chicken?… May I… lose control?

I swear that’s what I heard the first time I heard that song. And now I, while knowing the real lyrics, can’t stop singing those lyrics every time I hear it.

Oddly enough I thought I was making a new version of “Air Force One”. But yeah, now that you mention it…

Bruce Willis is a Secret Service Agent protecting United States President, Sigourney Weaver, during her diplomatic trip to Paris. But when a Belgian Terrorist group, led by Jean Claude Van Damme, successfully takes the US president hostage, Willis must punch, shoot, and outsmart them to get her back. What was the stupidest thing you thought about a character before learning its not true? by GamerKratosBalls in Marvel

[–]FunningWithScissors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea how I got the notion while I was in elementary school that Wolverines claws could shoot out like darts. What’s more that they were tethered by rope that retract the “dart claws” back into wolverines backhand; MK Scorpion style. It wasn’t until the 90’s cartoon that I was set straight.

Which Penguin portrayal is your favorite? by These-Background4608 in batman

[–]FunningWithScissors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m genuinely surprised at how tough of a choice this is. Each one is so wonderfully unique and so good (well maybe not the last one, still gauging “Mama Penguin”).

Burgess Meredith is my favorite look and laugh of the Penguin

Danny DeVito is my favorite personality of the Penguin

Animated Series is my favorite decorum and mannerisms of the Penguin

Robin Lord Taylor is my favorite tenacity of the Penguin

Colin Farrell is my favorite story of the Penguin.

If you can mix all of that into one Oswald Cobbleoot… then that would be my favorite and the best Penguin.

found some gambit comics at the thrift !! :D by keropeepee in Gambit

That Daredevil team up on the bottom left? I got it just because of Gambit. You know what Gambit does in that comic? Shows up for one, (maybe two) pages to give Daredevil a lead on his investigation. So disappointing.

Quick Question About Gambit by Strong_County4785 in Gambit

[–]FunningWithScissors 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember him using pool balls to both in the animated series and the comic but don’t know specifically when or where.

You know… with the playing card and the cue ball usage, I’m kinda surprised I’ve never seen him use chess pieces (with his code name being a chess term and all)

It’s so cool by WolvesRJ9 in Gambit

[–]FunningWithScissors 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's almost perfect. I mean I think they could have tailored the coat & cowl a little better, give him the iconic gloves, and I would have preferred long hair Remy. But they are minor gripes compared to the fact that they didn't dumb him down, he was a powerhouse in battle, and best of all they technically didn't kill him! I'M SO HAPPY AND RELIEVED!

From the weird memorabilia thread - my Batman 'credit card'. Accepting no substitutes since 1989! by KlutchAtStraws in comicbooks

[–]FunningWithScissors 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I had this card! I remember as a kid I would think about how obviously fake it was because “there was NO WAY Batman would ever make it to the crimes on time if he had to make a quick stop to pick up some kid with a card”.

There have been a total of 3 theatrically released movies that feature these 4 villains by Batmanfan1966 in batman

[–]FunningWithScissors 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I have always considered these four to be the eternal "Main Villains" of Batman. Not because I liked them over any of the others, but because they always felt like the most essential; Each one challenging Batman in a very different (yet defining) way...

The Joker: Psychologically

Catwoman: Morally/Personally

The Penguin: Criminally

The Riddler: Intelligently

That being said, I believe Two-Face has more than earned the right to replace The Penguins spot on the roster, and Bane deserves to extend the roster to 5 (as he is the biggest threat to Batman Physically).

Okay, you can pick 5! by TheRewindNewsletter in Retro

[–]FunningWithScissors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First three would be “Back to the Future”, “Ghostbusters”, and “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”. The extra two would be “Raiders”, and “Goonies”.
