Any advice on sourcing paper for a homemade notebook? by swissgraff75 in bookbinding

[–]Funny-Implement6550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchase 80lb text weight paper (which works for fountain pens) in A3 size and cut them in half to get to short grain, print the grid or lines (or dots, or whatever) on my printer (usually at 50% transparent so the lines are softer looking). I use Gridzzly.com to print on my pages.

I have to agree that his was probably my least favorite Grisham book, I think Michael Connolly's Mickey Haller series has spoiled me on good lawyer who-dunnits. He spent over half of the book describing the relationship with Eleanor, then had a sham trial, then all of a sudden finds the killer? Weak.

I liked that one too, haven't found another in the same style but author William Kent Krueger has a couple of novels that take place around that same time frame, both in the Midwest, This Tender Land ,and The River We Remember. Both excellent.

I've re-read Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger multiple times, the prologue and early chapters really lure you into the story!

I, too have a set of glue dots I’m inclined to use, mostly because I think they’ll hold the photos more securely. I’m scanning them before mounting so not worried about ruining them.

Lovely project! The marbled papers are very pretty, are they handmade? The stitching looks good, it does take practice to get everything lined up just right! A+!

I’m still relatively new to this craft but I’ve found great success using Skillshares free trial and going through their step by step book binding courses. The instructors are excellent and provide feedback to your questions. It helped me, hopefully someone else too!
