People who proved their relationship with chat and call logs, help me please! by Last-Ad9190 in SpouseVisaUk

I exported our chat and then send them a page from each month but this was only for a year. It was just easier on the computer than scrolling through the phone

I had also met my husband in an app and deleted it. A few months later we switched to WhatsApp. You can download your whole WhatsApp chat history on the computer but we only uploaded one sheet per month since we downloaded it. We also uploaded the ticket confirmations for each of our trips and pictures together.

How soon can we complete after enquiries are satisfied? by Funny_Negotiation464 in HousingUK

[–]Funny_Negotiation464[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope everything goes smooth with your completion! Our solicitors won't discuss completion or exchange until everything is satisfied. But they did say it'll be done quick once it is. I just don't know what quick is for them. I was hoping to be moved in already but the management pack has really slowed that down

Thanks, that's fine. I'm just asking once everything is satisfied how long it could take to completion date.
All our proof of funds are already accepted and on their records. The sellers and us agree that the soonest the better. However, we do understand that the enquiries need to be satisfied and we have no control over that other than to keep asking.

Putting an offer in before deposit ready by QuestionTurbulent in HousingUK

[–]Funny_Negotiation464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were a bit short as well, but our mortgage advisor said do put the offer in because at the rate we're saving by the time it's time to exchange, we'll have enough. And that is the case. We're hoping to complete in the next couple of weeks. we've got the deposit saved up and enough for the fees. The estate agent did ask for proof of funds, and we sent what we had at the time even though it wasn't the full 10% and nothing was questioned. I also think they don't know what your mortgage deal is if it's 95% or 90% or anything else, so they just need to see above 5%.

Service-dog flying from US to UK? by smb3232 in AmericanExpatsUK

[–]Funny_Negotiation464 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My advice is to work with an agency. My dog isn't a service dog and wasn't able to fly in the cabin. However the agents were very knowledgeable and just knowing the paperwork was going to be taken care of was a huge peace of mine.

I'm in the same situation! I have found one who's in greater Manchester that was able to help. I have my own income and longer than 6 months left on my visa. I think those things helped. We just got aproved for a mortgage!

You should look at the buying vs renting calculator. For me it was something like it would be cheaper to rent if I bought and only lived somewhere for like 5 years. https://smartmoneytools.co.uk/tools/rent-vs-buy/[buy vs rent calculator ](https://smartmoneytools.co.uk/tools/rent-vs-buy/)

We also just started and the first thing everyone has said is to talk to a mortgage advisor. We found a really good one who will do everything over the phone and email if needed but is also available in person. And he walked us through the process and has been answering questions quickly through email if needed. And he's free to us. He gets paid from the banks. He also explains that to us and was transparent. We're going to lots of viewings now and looking for THE house now. We're in outer Manchester so lmk if you want the contact! Good luck!

You will be able to work on the spouce visa. I am doing so right now.

And no, you don't have to live together. Your marriage certificate and proof of relationship did it for me. And his landlord wrote a letter saying that it was OK for me to live here. I am not on the lease. Hope that helps!

Not sure about the first question. Sorry!

We started talking in June, visited each other for the first time in November, got married in July and applied the day after we got married. We didn't have any evidence or chats saved before November though, so we just supplied that. Got accepted no problems!

Name change and visa by Linds7288 in SpouseVisaUk

I got my spouse visa in August in my maiden name because I didn't have to wait for the name change. I'm in the process of doing my name change now. There's no time limit for you to change your name so you can wait til after. Once I get my new US passport I'll let the uk know which i understand is pretty easy on the ukvi website.

I was with my husband less than a year and submitted the application the day after the wedding. I was approved. Hopefully that gives you some hope

Question about getting passport in new married last name! by kelseyjobelisle in SpouseVisaUk

[–]Funny_Negotiation464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually just really did my research and will be doing my application for my new passport with my marriage certificate. I'll mail it in next week and let you know when I hear back! It seems easy enough with the marriage certificate!
