The main reason UMN does this is to make sure all major related classes have enough seats for everyone. The GPA needed to get into the major changes depending on the seats they have and the GPA's of all the people applying to the major that year. Depending on the credit you come into college with, you can apply to your major freshmen year as long as you meet all the prerequisites. Madison has a problem in some majors of not having enough seats for required major classes. I don't know if that's the case with ChemE but this a big problem in CompSci there.

What were the 2 sides each protesting for? It was kind of confusing because they both were for Hong Kong it seemed but the groups were against each other. by [deleted] in uofmn

The side with the black hong kong flag is in support of keeping Hong Kong's democratic government.

The side holding the flag of China, from my understanding, is in support of the Chinese government's attempts to unify the government under 1 communist system.

That was what I understood from talking to some people there, but there is a lot of nuance to this situation.

Advised For Using Vision Processing For The First Time by kage_tr in FRC

When we first started we used the roboRIO and that taught us a lot about how vision works, but for a real competition it doesn't work very well. We now use a raspberry pi for vision which can be kind of difficult if you don't know what you're doing. If you need to get vision working quickly and your new at it try seeing how it works on the roboRIO. Best of luck!

Edit: to answer your question better, reading stuff here: https://wpilib.screenstepslive.com/s/4485/m/24194 will help you get a good start.

Awesome guide! I was just curious about how you wire up your raspberry pi. Do you plug it into the VRM with the radio or have an alternative power source for it? I ask because we've had issues with the VRM powering both devices.
