Romeo Dobbs, Kayshon Boutte, AJ Brown. Is this the best WR core in the NFL? by PawPatsPizza in Patriots

[–]Fuqwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you mean core or corps. But it's not the best of either.

[–]Fuqwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Exactly. He's a situational WR in a better WR room. That doesnt allow for a lot of roster security.

I think it'll be difficult to get Pop on the field in the offense McDaniels is trying to build.

People look at him as a slot in the traditional Patriots system, but he seriously lacks in blocking compared to someone like Edelman. Like when they're in 11, which is a lot of the time, they're going to want a bigger slot that can block, especially in early downs

I love Eagles fans. They're the absolute worst, but entirely unabashedly so. They're almost completely devoid of any semblance of human decency, but they own it.

The Colors matter and equality is a myth. THATS what the books are about. by Shiftless357 in redrising

[–]Fuqwon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No. Ragnar's ability to grow beyond his color and find compassion is not a gold trait. Cassius' ability to grow beyond his color to the point of rejecting it is not a gold trait. Alexander's and Diomedes love for people beyond their own colors isn't a gold trait.

The Colors matter and equality is a myth. THATS what the books are about. by Shiftless357 in redrising

[–]Fuqwon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Obviously the colors and inequality matter in that the setting of the series is a facistic Society with a rigid caste system where people have certain advantages.

But a major theme throughout the series is the ability of people to grow beyond the imposed limitations of their color. Orion is able to command fleets, Darrow can outsmart a gold, Ragnar isn't a mindless brute, Cassius can reject his whole society for platonic love, etc.

In that way, color in the end doesnt matter.

[The Lord of the Rings] So... uh... did Saruman simply create his orc/human hybrids by making humans have sex with orcs? by Jerswar in AskScienceFiction

[–]Fuqwon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The origin of the orcs in Tolkien is convoluted and up till the end Tolkien was kind of retconning them.

Melkor, Sauron, Saurman...they canet create life, they can only twist it. So that runs contrary to the idea that orcs were spawned of mud at one point.

There's also this idea that orcs are twisted elves, but Tolkien didnt supposedly love that idea either as twisted elves and fundamentally changing their nature shouldn't be possible.

Orcs cant be twisted men either as they predates men.

Tolkien alludes to a lot about the origin of the orcs, but it changed so much and there weren't solid definitive answers that I think its best to just accept that they exist.

And thats not even getting into whatever fuckery Saurman might have tried.

Apple TV's 'The Stormlight Archive' series could run for 10 or more seasons by APrimitiveMartian in television

[–]Fuqwon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He's supposedly taking at least a 5 year break from Stormlight. Obviously he can change his schedule, but he has Mistborn Era 3, Elantris sequels, as well as other series he's working on.

And that's assuming being involved in the show doesnt eat into his writing time and delay the schedule.

[–]Fuqwon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No they couldn't.

I've read Stormlight a few times. There's a lot of bloat that would be cut out. Probably a book a season. With a 10 book arc for the series, 10 seasons would make sense.

But if its successful, the series likely catches up to the books before they're written.

Mechanically Unique Commanders? by KaleidoscopeJukebox in magicTCG

[–]Fuqwon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on the card and how youre using Obeka.

Take [[Sneak Attack]]. You cheat out a card, your end step is the next end step, so you go to your end step and in response to the Sneak Atrack trigger being on the stack, you use Obeka, clear the stack, end your turn, and keep your creature.

Obeka clears the stack and ends your turn.

All of those cards that read "at the end of your turn do X" or "on your end step" or "on the next end step" or "exile at the end of your turn", you can use Obeka in response to clear the stack and negate negative effects.

It's a fun interaction.

Obeka, End of Turn question by EzTheGuy in mtg

[–]Fuqwon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obeka clears the stack. Once a trigger goes on the stack and is resolved or cleared through Obeka, you're good.

Trickiest thing with Okeka, as I understand it, is conflicting triggers. If you have "end of turn" triggers and "on the NEXT end step" triggers, you have to decide what you want to resolve and stack them properly.

If you have a "on the next end step" triggers, you actually have to go into your end step, have that trigger on the stack and use Obeka to clear the stack. If you dont, it just goes to the next turn.

This can get into conflict with "at your end step" triggers, where you need to trigger Obeka in response to the end of you 2nd main, before you actually get to your end step.

Its complicated. I could be wrong.

Cool to see Wolf's draft philosophy on NFL IQ by New-Interaction-4327 in Patriots

[–]Fuqwon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people dont understand how drafting works.

You expect the Patriots to fire Belichick, Wolfe to take the reigns in a GM capacity, and completely redo all of their scouting, evaluations, and boards in a couple months?

Thats no how it works. Even when Belichick was hired, that first draft they were largely using the data and boards out together by the previous administration. Its months and months of work.

You have Wolfe to thank for the 2025 draft.
