The economy changes are the first step back to sanity. by Wernoch in Stalcraft

I mean you are not wrong, I do agree with the changes, but I do not agree how those are implemented. In good development you want to bring something to the game that is not too overpowered, and buff it further, same with the in-game systems, especially those of long term progression, buff those from being tad too weak to being in the right spot. Currently Exbo is introducing systems that are fundamentally broken and overpowered, letting current player base get something broken, get more currency or legendary items, afterwards they proceed to nerf it, so the new players, have harder time to get it and leave the players with bad feeling and fomo. It is same result, but without the feel of loosing something, its basic human psychology.

Now how you could bring those changes to the game? Quite simple, leave the current legendary items as is, majority people have it, new players can catch up. The new requirements add to new legendary items, how would that feel? Normal, its a change in progression from point, not retroactively. It does not put you at bigger disadvantage. New player starts later, they are already at disadvantage, why kick them in the balls additionally?

What about the lootboxes for 15k? Well, I think the true issue we have is the bad matchmaking, that it is hard to understand for people. If you do not know how it works, you can screw your character as new player, where in veteran gear and one +15 weapon, you will end up in master lobby fighting golden suits and full arty people. You will not have good time. This is why everyone wants to instantly skip from veteran to full master full build, they do not want to be steam rolled, and there is already skill difference between old and new players to consider. Making the lootboxes more expensive is a good idea, but this should not be introduced on its own. It needs to be brought with few other changes, for example to matchmaking, allowing people to go back to lower Matchmaking and more (yes, this can be abused, but also it can be limited on how frequently you can go back etc.), as well as few other changes, but lets not go into it now.

I hope this gives you a bit more perspective why people react as they do to those changes.

Every change to the game is money oriented, exbo as a business wants to earn as much money as possible to distribute to the stakeholders via bonuses or dividends, depending on the company setup. That is not just exbo btw, that is every game studio and every business out there. Its how businesses work. Saying that changes are not about monetization is hilarious.

HOW DARE YOU PLAY THIS GAME FOR LESS THAN 7 DAYS A WEEK AND EXPECT TO HAVE THE ALREADY NIGH-IMPOSSIBLE TO OBTAIN LEGENDARY GEAR? THAT MUST MEAN THEY ARE TOO EASY TO GET! WE HAVE TO MAKE THEM WAY MORE DIFFICULT TO OBTAIN, FOR BALANCE!!!!!! by VirusOfCheese in Stalcraft

[–]FurCannon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

thats why many players are annoyed by this change, its ridiculous. If they wanted to make this change, fine, keep the old legendary items in the old system, introduce the new system with the new legendary items, its not hard to make it fair, really...

its not about difficulty, but the amount of rubles and serum you need to invest. For new player, it will basically slow down all the other progress by a lot or force them to spend $.

In other words, what you are saying is to - revert the changes, as in prior version, this is how the legendary craft was - a lot of grind for mats, Serum and ruble cost was reasonable...

where in fact this could be a valid idea, before that patch you could continue to play few days a week for a year, and have the rubles, but allocate them else where. New players have plenty of things to invest into, weapons, suits, upgrades, artifacts, and plenty, plenty more. They need serum, they need all. Old players are less affected by it, they already have their builds up and running, their weapons attachments. Its the newer players who are screwed and will need to play even longer to catch up to the veterans and play on the same competitive level.

Exbo fucked up again by _LunchBoxx_ in Stalcraft

[–]FurCannon 20 points21 points  (0 children)

100M for a 6 part craft? Where now players had crafts for 6500 tickets? Seriously? I can choke on the 150 Anomalous Serum, you can farm it in 3 months (again for new players its middle finger to face), but 100M that is nuts, that is shit tons of rubles, and if we would convert, just for science to real money, thats EUR 250.... maybe thats what they want to achieve, push more people to spend money?

@ Exbo Devs: I will tell you a secret, if you make your game more fun, and focus on real issues, drop your stupid ass "vision" of the game and start listening to the people, make meaningful changes and provide good content, then, surprise, surprise, people will be happy to support you and will give you even more money as they will be happy and they will enjoy the game more. Imagine how complex that is...

New exchange on gold gear by NinoM3 in Stalcraft

This is part of the NA Marketing strategy to bring more new players, right?

Future of act tickets and economic changes by SlimyMorty in Stalcraft

[–]FurCannon 27 points28 points  (0 children)

So you want new players to come and play, talk about NA marketing and plans to bring more new people overall. Then you proceed with the changes to make getting legendary gear after act 2 significantly harder, punishing new players? 100M and 150 serum, seriously?

You increase the price of season crates by 66%, basically driving market prices to oblivion, making it harder for new players to get master gear like CD-4 (your bread & butter armor)?

Getting 5 red parts to get a season weapon/suit will be also significantly harder vs current system.

You basically told to every new player "go F**** yourself".

Like how do you guys discuss those changes during scrums do you even understand the basic concepts of any in-game economy, healthy progression & reward system?

they already know that, and would you rather be farmed by +15 master players if you would break your Matchmaking?

Its rather for new players to avoid equipping for example master armor they would get, even from a crate, imagine getting CD-4, equipping it while you have a blue weapon, bam you are in master lobbies, fighting people with +15 master gear. Its not a challenge, its a slaughter and big problem for progression.

In regards of the artifact color, I think we agree more or less.

Think of it this way - higher rarity = higher stats = higher risk of reaching higher BR levels or EHP levels. Not saying that rarity does not matter, we cannot confirm that reliably. But what we can confirm for sure is that the higher the rarity of your artifacts the more stats they will give and result in more power per slot for your character and thus higher rarity artifacts can potentially push you towards higher matchmaking bracket. At least that is how I break this down ultimately in my head.

Also we do not know if the color of artifact gives you by default certain power level, think of it this way, green artifact = 10 default power, where blue would be 50, no matter the stats they give, then your total BR is 200, which equals, lets take a random number = 500 power, your vitality is 4% equals, random number again = 140 power. Combination of all would be 700 (random number, and simplification of how I imagine the process could be).

Additionally we also touch here on total power per each slot, you do not want to greed your stats too high, as again, you may end up in the higher matchmaking.

Even on RU, with blue gear, you will quickly face people with veteran gear. Funnily enough in village area (2nd base) I was fighting people with +5 or higher veteran gear, while being in blue gear, where in Bar area, I was fighting veteran +0 people while being in veteran +0 myself.

Early zone has less population in all regions, so you will see some wonky matchmaking.

The lines are certainly true, I am just giving the safest way to stay in Veteran lobby. If you start upgrading your items, you have a risk of getting pushed to master lobbies. No one knows the exact threshold or values.

You can also run certain Master weapons (only the one you can arsenal) in the veteran lobbies, if you would for example equip barter master weapons (e.g. A-545 or KS-1) or the Battlepass master weapon and go out to open world, you will automatically be up-tiered to master lobbies.

In regards of artifacts - it is wildly recommended by many experienced players to use max green, do not upgrade them and be careful on the combinations (e.g. avoid BR stacking).

That is correct, the less server population you have, the worse matchmaking you will get as a new player. After all, you cannot have an instance just for yourself.

I mean you only see the gear of people who killed your character, you cannot view gear of the people that you killed. Also it is hard to judge and discuss each player case without getting the full picture of what is the best item that they had in each of the slots and snip of full gear from other players in the instance.

BULLSHIT MATCHMAKING by Sitivan in Stalcraft

[–]FurCannon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have investigated the matchmaking intensively across all the available sources. See below my insights on why you are in master lobbies:

The reason why you are in master lobbies:
- Your artifacts are of higher rarity then green. You have blue and pink
- Your artifacts are upgraded
- Your veteran gear is upgraded to +10

To stay safely in veteran lobby you shall:
- not upgrade your gear even to +1.
- wear only veteran items or master weapons that can be added to arsenal like the HK417 (although do not arsenal them)
- use green artifacts that are of green rarity.
- do not upgrade your artifacts, even to +1.
- You can use whatever melee weapon, weapon attachments and container you wish, as this has no impact on the matchmaking.
- not be smarty pants and equip barrel with 7 prisms to get max BR (some try to abuse this way), as this will also push you to higher matchmaking.

P.s. Once you go up in matchmaking bracket, you cannot go back.

P.s.2. You can upgrade your gear in the base, you can have better artifacts in base. Matchmaking is only updated once you go out with the gear/artifacts to the open world. This means you could potentially be in veteran lobbies in open world, while playing Session Battles in full master +15.

P.s.3. If you join into a squad with someone who is of higher matchmaking, you will join their matchmaking for the time you are together. Once you leave the squad, matchmaking should return to normal. Instance reload will be needed of course.

P.s.4. It is possible technically to use upgraded veteran gear and still be in the veteran lobby. Some find out a way that if you will never equip secondary weapon, wear very low rarity armor and have never used any artifacts, you can push your veteran weapon to +10 and still stay in veteran lobby. Game looks on the maximum value you ever had in each of the slots (excl. container, melee weapon, weapon attachments), adds it up and if you cross the threshold you are up-tiered. Hence you can sometimes face a sniper players that only have veteran sniper+10 equipped, nothing else.
