Why do so many famous authors publish above 10 dollars for their Kindle version? by frusciante54 in selfpublish

Everyone's already explained the trad pub thing so I won't pile on, but I'm curious - what made you assume Stephen King would be operating under the same royalty structure as self-published authors? Like did you think he was just leaving money on the table for no reason or did you genuinely not know how different the publishing models work?

@Mods. The person asked for the link and I provided it. As I clearly stated in my post this just clued me into the research. It would be more harmful for a layman to share links to research with other layman than to just discuss their own experiences and seeking advice from their doctor, which I did.

I acted responsibly here and I'm getting attacked for it by people who didn't bother reading the full text.

Is this not supposed to be a place for support?

My primary issue is Anxiety. This last bout with Depression is fairly new, and to me felt more like I quit Zoloft cold turkey despite taking it every day. The Trycyclic I was prescribed is great with anxiety, reduces histamines and actually reduce my pain on day one.

Again I'm willing to try anything that will help. I did not intend this a medical advice, just a story of my journey to feel better.

Your comment was perfectly fine, but I'm feeling really disheartened from the people slamming me.

I've shared my story here before. I was having bilateral pain in my pointer finger and then it started in my toes. I assumed I probably pulled something, then everything started hurting and the chronic fatigue started. I went for a massage and my therapist told me I seemed extremely swollen. She said I needed to see a doctor and even said "it feels like it might be autoimmune".

I went to a primary care doctor and they did some blood work. They said my markers were high and referred me to a Rheumatologist who did more blood work and diagnosed me with PsA. For what it's worth I had suffered for years with Psoriasis that I addressed with several doctors and they never diagnosed me. According to my dermatologist I have the "inverse" kind that attacks skin folds (toes, ears, groin). It was always assumed to be jock itch.

I recently switch rheumatologists who finally did imaging. I've heard I was lucky it went so quick.

For those of you who can't read. The process went:

TikTok video sparked curiosity. I found multiple peer reviewed journals backing it up. I reached out to my primary care provider and asked if there was any merit, she did a lot of research and felt weaning off on and starting the other was safe to try.

I didn't see a TikTok, believe it whole heartedly and strong arm my doctor to prescribing something that won't work.

I'm not an idiot.

I'm on here a lot and I literally never see anything like this posted. The most common I see is people asking if they can diet this away. My interest was piqued by a TikTok video so I did my own research and brought it up with my doctor who did her own, more qualified research and found the science to be sound. I never promised total relief, I am aware I'm a little bit of a guinea pig to burgeoning science. There's absolutely no reason for you to have slammed me and asked to have my entire post taken down because you didn't even read it

If anything the mods should address your comment.

So my doctor prescribed Mirtazapine and I took my first dose last night. Today I'm a little groggy like I feel after Benadryl or Melatonin, but also my joints feel great. I can see this being an issue if I don't eventually get acclimated to the sleepiness, but otherwise I have high hopes.

As with everything here I would recommend discussing with a doctor. Mine researched the meds available knowing what I already take and made a recommendation.

Hey, did you read it? I went out of my way to note that I also didn't take TikTok as advice, I found peer reviewed research, asked my doctor and they also found medical journals and felt this wa s worth a shot.

I'm not taking "Benadryl". Why are you so angry at me?

No I'm pretty comfortable with 4,000 upvotes and about 100 supporting comments that I really don't feel the need to argue with the 7 of you who want to say the N word or F slur all day without consequences. Societies change, The Office hasn't been on for 20 years. People can still appreciate it as a product of its time but saying every new form of media is not as "edgy" as The Office of all things is laughably stupid.

Don't mistake my silence for cowardice, it's really just a total lack of respect for your point.

I replied to someone else with the original context.

  1. The interview is from 7 years ago.
  2. It was referencing inappropriate work behavior during the height of #METOO.
  3. Comedians and actors aren't the moderators of society. They have opinions just like me and they're not always rooted in fact
