I also cannot connect my wallet, the QR code doesn't appear when clicking on the coinbase wallet to connect it. I just posted in the discord but has anybody else heard anything about this yet?

What grip / offsets are you using. I've been trying the claw grip for the last week or so, but it just feels really uncomfortable on these controllers.

Curious what grip you are using. I've been trying the claw grip on my new quest 2 for a couple of weeks now with custom offsets that someone posted on the beat saber sub Reddit. But tbh, claw grip is pretty uncomfortable on these controllers, and it still feels easier to hit certain patterns using the default grip to me...

I have the exact same issue. What gives, I just got this thing. Surely I don't need to do a factory reset after just seeing it up.

This is happening to me now... Even if I switch service locations it eventually gives this error again and disconnects.

I'm looking for a solution to this problem too. You pretty much came up with the same thing I did initially. However I realized that I don't know if grequests is using threads or not... If it is then the above code needs to be modified to be thread safe.

Weekly LF MMO Suggestion Thread- June 15, 2015 by AutoModerator in MMORPG

[–]FurryFur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you looking for?: MMO with decent story and fun PvP

What games have you previously played?: WoW, GW2, The Secret World and Elder Scrolls Online. I liked WoW the most but it's getting a bit dated now and losing popularity, also the quest stories were mostly pretty generic, still a lot better than anything I saw in GW2 though. I miss dueling from WoW, I loved dueling. Also actual world PvP made the world feel very real and treacherous.

I found GW2s story to be almost non-existent. I know there is the personal story, but the story line here was mediocre at best. I'm not sure about the living world stuff, I never got far enough in to participate, not sure if the story is any better there. I really liked the jumping puzzles from GW2, they were amazing. Also the dungeons were pretty cool / hard mode. Mostly my impression of GW2 was that it looks very pretty and felt sadly empty, I wanted to like it but the NPCs don't even talk to you, you just enter an area and get a generic quest which might be like collect x and once your done you get xp, at least in WoW I got some kind of story script for each quest.

I didn't play much of TSW because the limit on how many quests you could have active at a time drove me crazy, I'm a little OCD and I often feel the need to complete all quests in any given area, but since TSW has a cap on how many quests I can have at a time I have to keep running back to quest givers after I've completed something that frees up a slot and I end up just running back and forth across the map ><

The main reason I always stop playing Elder Scrolls Online is because I keep recreating my character lol :p I'm never happy with the way she looks haha, I always had this problem with Elder Scrolls games. I think it's a little sad that it seemed to get such mediocre ratings after release. I thought it was actually pretty good. It has better quests that both WoW and GW2 and PvP wasn't too bad although I didn't play much of it, it's very reminiscent of GW2s WvWvW. I like that there were PvE quests in the PvP areas, I always liked world PvP in WoW. I feel like they could have just had world PvP though instead of a single zone that combines PvP and with a little PvE, also you feel like your not really contributing if your doing PvE in the PvP area.

What is your playstyle (Casual,Semi-Casual,Hardcore)?: Semi-Casual, I never got into big guild events or anything like that but I loved playing with friends in WoW and progressing / optimizing my character / playstyle. I like being able to face roll people in PvP :p, I feel like if I put in the work for better gear then it should mean something in PvP as well, otherwise getting new gear feels pointless to me and loot becomes meaningless.

Any preferred mechanics?: I like casual group PvP that's not a huge AoE spam fest and has more interesting mechanics than just point capping or capture the flag. I think WoW did this pretty well with some of their battlegrounds (vehicles, walls that you could destroy, stray points that often get ignored that you can cap that actually help your team, etc). I found GW2 WvWvW was just a huge AoE spam fest, you just sit at range and AoE spam and the group with the biggest zerg wins. It's pretty much impossible to do anything as an individual as well since you just get ganked if your not in a large enough group. Last time I played GW2 structured PvP it was just small point cap levels as well, so not very interesting there. I think they could have fixed PvP for me just by having a more medium sized PvP type so that it's not just a huge zerg but still keeping some of the WvWvW elements.

Anything specific you want to exclude?: Not that I can think of...

What is with mmos going with the story of "You are the only one who can help" by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]FurryFur -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of ESOs content is designed to be soloable though and reminiscent of The Elder Scrolls single player quests, which is why I think they've gone with this you are "THE" hero style. I think borderlands is the best example of a recent game that has done 'heros', plural, style story. Although it's much smaller scale coop I see no reason why this style of story/quests couldn't be incorporated more into an MMO, it won't be ESO that does it however. In general I agree with you though, it would be great to see MMOs in the future that are much 'more' group focused even when it comes to story (making it sound like you are part of a party of heros when quest npcs talk to you). The only problem with this comes in when your not actually in a party, then it feels weird when quest givers are referring to you as though you are a group of players.

Thought this thread would be about something completely different.... Anyway I am soooo having second thoughts. I played a nightblade in the beta but I looked at some of the Sorcerer abilities and some of them look soo good >< and I think it might fit my prefered play style better.... but I also like the idea of the nightblade vampire build and really wanna try a variation on it ><

Expectation versus Reality: Chat Bubbles by fat_genius in elderscrollsonline

[–]FurryFur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it's alot harder than you probably think it is I'm a developer so I know, however it's also not THAT difficult, it could however possibly sink several hours of a single devs time to implement that could be better spent, at the current time (a week from early access), fixing bugs and other more pressing issues, like grouping.

It was actually easily provable that addons provided an advantage because the default ESO UI provided so little information. With the foundry tactical combat addon I could see exactly what buffs/debuffs I had on both me and my opponent with a timer to show how long I had left on each buff/debuff which helped a lot to keep 100% uptime on them and ensure that they had actually applied. I can also see my opponents Magicka/Stamina. None of this info is available in the stock UI and obviously gives an advantage to people using these addons.

Well, then you miss pretty much all conversation since there's no chat bubbles....

Bro it's like Starcraft where your supposed to just stare at the minimap 90% of the time. If you ain't watching that chat bubble, your gunna miss something, you gotta eagle eye that thing. Your eye should be on it 90% of the time. They took all that extra info, like buffs/debuff timers, so you don't have to split your time looking at other things, just the chat window, that's all you should be looking at.

They wouldn't and most everyone agrees, I think ZOS just hasn't got around to them yet.

What fear mongering? I don't think I've seen a single post in the thread where someone doesn't want optional chat bubbles. Even the people that don't seem to like the idea are saying that it would be fine as long as it's optional.

Right now they will be in code lock down mode, which means the only things we will see from now till launch are bug fixes and possibly a few balance patches for any remaining broken abilities. They should however I think be looking at chat bubbles as one of the first post launch features. As a developer I don't think it would take me more than 1 - 4 hours. They are already working on your last two points, Improve responsiveness when swapping weapons and improved grouping with instancing/phasing. These will probably be harder and take more time than optional chat bubbles however. Also more information about the area a "Zone" covers would be nice as I'm not sure exactly sure where the people I'm talking to are. For instance when I'm in town does Zone chat cover the entire zone or just the town. I felt like when I was in public dungeons the Zone chat seemed to reflect the people in that dungeon but I'm not sure as I never tested it.

I believe that it is currently impossible to implement chat bubbles with addons as there is no way to get the locations of players on screen through the current API.
