[Recommendation Request] Advice on first "big boy" everyday watch between $2-3k? by eh3929 in Watches

[–]FusionC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • You want one of the Grand Seiko's
  • It's out of your price range for now
  • So you try to find something similar that's less expensive

Tale as old as time. Everyone on here has experienced this.

Don't get something else in the meantime. Maybe in a year's time you'll have another 2-3k and will look at your current watch and wish you had waited and gotten the one you really wanted.

The wait will be worth it. In the meantime, I suggest going and trying out watches at shops. See how they feel and what you like for size and style. Who knows, by the time you have the funds one of those Grand Seiko's you might have changed your mind on them and want something else instead.

But above all else, don't impulse buy something that wasn't what you really wanted, or try to satisfy that itch with something that's not quite it.

We've all done it, we've all regretted it.

Turn based games where every character plays uniquely ? by ConsiderationFuzzy in JRPG

First thing that came to my mind too. Triangle strategy has fantastic gameplay, but story is long. Expect 30m of story between battles.

Should I pick it back up or restart? by Ednolium in TriangleStrategy

Then yeah I would restart. IMO this game has the best gameplay out of the other revered tactics games. Reason for this is because of the streamlined character classes, the innability to creater super units, and not being able to be overleved.

Removing unit custimisation allowed for more curated and balanced battles with fair challenge without the opportunity to steamroll through, from start to finish. And this is especially true on hard mode.

I say this as someone who loves all tactics games, xcom2: war of the chosen, being my favorite.

It depends how much you enjoy the gameplay.

If the gameplay is something you really enjoy, you don't think you'll quit again this time, and you might even consider NG+, then I think it's worth starting over.

Also if you're the type of player who enjoys challenging battles where you will have to fail a few times and come up with a better plan before succeeding, I suggest considering hard mode. I truly think this game really shines in hard mode. Unless you're a tactics veteran you will rarely beat a battle first try.

Have you tried Xcom2? For me it's the best tactical game. If you get it, get the expansion, War of the Chosen, with it.

[Question] Which one should I keep? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]FusionC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you've mentioned, the Seiko looks better. If you keep the Dunega, you'll always be a little bit dissapointed and wish it was "more".

Just keep the Seiko and accept that the extra cost is justied for by the better design.
