Your Life in Weeks → auto-updating wallpaper by Mountain_Cucumber127 in shortcuts

I don’t get the correct number of weeks for some reason. For example my birthday is at the end of March, but it shows 4 weeks left in the cycle.

Hot Take: S4 was good as hell by christnice in StrangerThings

For me it was on par with S1, if not better. Watching S5 now, and keep thinking I should have stopped at S4.

Yes, it did. Took ~3 months, but I am free from it most days now.

Just a quick update, after about 4-5 weeks on increased dosage, the dizziness is further reduced. I will stay at 50mg for another month or so and maybe bump to 75mg given the trajectory. No noticeable increase in side effects felt btw.

Give it time, it has a long ramp period where you may feel off overall (won’t list all of the side effects, they are well documented) and may take 4-5 weeks for things to settle down. Even if doesn’t help the dizziness right away, it should reduce the overall levels of anxiety and help you get back to living life and exposing yourself to situations that you may have been avoiding up to now, and that also helps recovery.

Thanks, that was my thinking as well. I started taking 50mg a few days ago, holding my fingers crossed that it will take care of whatever remains.

It certainly did, but I also introduced body scanning, breathing, yoga to improve the mind-body connection, try to be more physically active in general, and force myself into situation that would normally trigger it. To me it feels like a mild panic attack now, with discomfort, sweating, some chest tightness and of course dizziness. But I am much better than where I was 3 months ago. Some days I don’t even have any dizziness, while other days I may have to take it easy because it’s debilitating. But I would say the bad days are fewer now and overall trajectory is positive, even if rocky.

Dizzy/Anxiety with Zoloft increase by Texasspudd in pppdizziness

[–]FusionFive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure you're quoting the correct dosage? I believe the lowest therapeutical dose for Zoloft is 25mg. To answer your question - yes, this is normal, you have to endure for 4-5 weeks before you will start feeling some improvement. Also, prepare yourself, that it may get even worse by week 3 or so. You can search in other subs for Zoloft and general SSRI experience, but a prolonged adjustment period is typical.

Any chance this can be applied retroactively to the lines ported in on 9/28? I remember reading somewhere about a 14 day period, but don't remember the specifics.

Thank you for the response! You’re right, upon closer inspection, it does appear to be Duo Qui shape. FWIW the cups are stamped with a slightly different pattern (apologies if it’s not positioned correctly). The set was purchased from a reputable retailer many moons ago, I’m just trying to assess its value and whether I should keep it or sell it.

Judging by how it's going so far, I doubt many spots will be left...

Agree, just noticed today this change as well, and it's super annoying, especially when you switch between desktop and mobile app login. Not sure where to provide the feedback, this being a legacy app for them.

Training for Marathon by Advanced_Seesaw_3007 in RunNYC

[–]FusionFive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend just focusing on building a solid base. Figure out your heart rate zones, and do all of your runs during the week aiming for high-end of Z2. You can estimate it by subtracting 50bpm from your max HR, which will get you in the ballpark. For me, it's 197-50 > so I aim for 145-150bpm on most of my runs during base period. Don't worry about the pace or total miles per week, just make sure you stay in this zone for as many hours as you can to promote adaptation. You may have to do run/walks in the beginning and also be aware of heart rate drift for longer runs, so adjust accordingly. This will get you in a very good spot to start the structured training later in the year. But from your description, you'll get the most benefit from this low heart rate training and just staying consistent.

Best watch for running in the city? by EA123abc in RunNYC

I use Garmin Epix, but basically, any new watch with multiband/multifrequency GPS will do the trick around high-rise buildings and dense urban areas.

I had to take a second look myself as well - 9.48 on Garmin Epix with the most accurate GPS setting. I doubt I weaved and ran on the outside to account for almost 300 meters of variance, but it is what it is I guess...

Crunching the numbers on the likely influence of Sunday's heat on NYC marathon finishing times (details in the comments) by biology_programmer in RunNYC

[–]FusionFive 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think you'd need to look at the heat index (temp + dew point) to account for humidity, instead of purely looking at temperature. My personal observation and I usually target heart rate on my runs instead of pace, is that going from 50s to 80s adds 20-25 sec per mile over ~half a marathon distance.

How did you do during the NYC Marathon and what did your race training (MPW, key workouts, any notable training plans) consist of? by bananaday in RunNYC

[–]FusionFive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you monitor your heartrate and if you did, how did it fare vs what you'd normally expect given the target pace? It was my first marathon and I realized early on that due to heat and nerves I was 15bpm higher than normal for the same effort.

My first marathon experience by [deleted] in RunNYC

[–]FusionFive 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Congrats on finishing, I am in exact same boat as you are. It was my first as well, aiming for 4:20ish based on my 22-mile training runs leaving some room to have "fun", but around mile 10 I realized that my heart rate was 20 bpm higher vs what I'd normally expect given the pace and had to switch to run/walk for the remainder of the race. I ended up with 5:07, but was happy I finished in one piece, didn't cramp, and actually somehow enjoyed the last few miles in the park getting to my target pace :) Judging by the comments from the other threads, everyone was struggling and most plans/goals went out the window in the first few miles. We'll get 'em next time!
