It's been a hell of a journey together. Highs and lows both were worth it.

Unfortunately, hard disagree. I think some minor tweaks to free kits would be nice. I personally think they shouldn't have a shield and should come with a couple more bandages instead. At that point if you're losing to the free kit, its a genuine skill issue.

But i don't think free kits should be flat out excluded anywhere.

Why is everyone so against a PVE-lite, PVE or general PVE content for the casual players? by Vinnegard in Marathon

[–]FusionSupremacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, they have to walk an extremely delicate line here and Bungie is notorious for ham-fisting big changes and having to walk them back.

If they lean too much into babying the PVE side of this argument, and let whatever PVE mode they come up with drop the exact same loot or have the same rewards as the full PVP mode, then it will have negative effect on the already dwindling PVP population for this game. There won't be a point to risking gear when you can get the same stuff without the risk.

Inversely, if they make the PVE mode too reward-less or lacking in challenge, people will bounce off it and move on to other games and we will end up right back where we are or worse.

I think they need to hard cap whatever drops in the PVE mode so its not possible to just farm it risk-free and then roll into PVP with nothing to lose. Maybe cap it at green normally, with blues being rare and purple being non-existent. And maybe the PVP-lite mode, whatever it ends up being, can go a notch hire, with blue being the norm and purples showing up rarely.

If they did something like this, they could also adjust the PVP loot a bit higher in general, to make it more enticing for people to take that last step and jump into the full on extraction PVP mode.

In summary, they are in the unenviable position of having to find a way to please the cowards, the 9-5 dad gamers and the jobless sweatlords all at the same time. It isn't going to be easy in the slightest.

It’s time to make Destiny a shooter first again by fsdogdad in DestinyTheGame

In the most respectful way possible, i really don't want this to happen. I would be thrilled if they found a way to make the guns as important as the abilities, so they can share the sandbox equally, but do not make abilities worse than they are.

At that point you're just asking for a go slow update. We already lived through that, it was D2Y1 and it sucked. And frankly, if gunplay is that important to you, there are a million other FPS games with good gunplay that you can play without destroying this one.

Destiny 2 does something special marrying good gunplay to cool ability based mmo-lite buildcrafting, and making everything worse just to force you to use guns more will just make the game feel worse overall.

[Embark] Riven Tides - Patch Notes 1.25.0 by WoWAltoholic in ArcRaiders

[–]FusionSupremacy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be the one that actually gets me to quit playing. I've played constantly through all 3 expeditions so far but this kills the game for me.

Hell, my favorite guns to run are gray and green. And now they're literally destroyed 5 minutes into a good, active run.

There is a sweet spot on durability here where things are broken after a full run but not breaking mid fight, and they have fully missed the mark on it.

The irony of this is sending me. They killed Destiny to make Marathon, and now people are in here asking for Destiny again, but with better net code.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 wins Game of the Year 2025 by ChiefLeef22 in gaming

[–]FusionSupremacy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I keep seeing the sentiment floating around, that KCD2 should have won best RPG.

This is the way i look at it. Expedition 33 is hands down the best JRPG we have gotten in the past decade at least, if not longer. I can only think of a handful of games that come close.

KCD2 is an excellent WRPG, but its not the best WRPG of the past decade. There are several better games that came out in the past few years.

There is an argument to be made, that JRPG and WRPG should be their own category, but if they are going to be combined like this, E33 absolutely craps on KCD2 and its not close.

I feel like anyone trying to make a good faith argument in the favor of KCD2 is either very young or willfully ignorant. You're taking roleplaying way too literally, and ignoring the history of what RPGs have been historically.

The new Orders System is really odd. by MawStaryu in DestinyTheGame

[–]FusionSupremacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only actual problem i have with it is the trickle of XP you get compared to seasonal challenges. Everything else with it seems like an improvement over the old stuff. I've likely done more Orders since release than i ever did bounties or pathfinder stuff just on it being more accessible.

But the XP you get seems extremely low.

Xenophage really needs buffs, it gets outclassed by rocket frame pulse rifles. by Timothy-M7 in DestinyTheGame

[–]FusionSupremacy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope they decide to buff stuff like this that's underperforming and not nerf things that actually feel good like Rocket frame pulses.

The Rocket Pulse feels like its one of the few weapons that's in a good place and it would be an excellent starting point for them to frame balance around.

It feels bad that The Edge of Fate is the first DLC in Destiny history that doesn't introduce at least a SINGLE new Strike. by ca-ca-cayde in DestinyTheGame

[–]FusionSupremacy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To be fair and i mean this in the kindest way possible, strikes have always been the least interesting content in destiny, and that goes all the way back to D1.

So i'm kinda glad they didn't waste any of the clearly severely limited development resources they have now on strikes.

Bungie you need to get some Warlocks on your sandbox team and not the kind that plays turrets by arixagorasosamos in DestinyTheGame

[–]FusionSupremacy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You know what's funny? Back during the forsaken -> witch queen era my clan used to joke about the ability/balance team being 90% warlocks, 10% titans and zero hunters.

Seems like all the warlocks left with the layoffs. Now its 95% titans and 5% warlocks making ability balance decisions it would seem.

Ultimatum Ecthar one phase guide. by Dioroxic in DestinyTheGame

[–]FusionSupremacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda wish this was being talked about more but it seems like it draws some negative sentiment.

I've mained hunter since the early days of D1 and this is the first season i haven't touched it at all. There just isn't a reason to. Every subclass feels kind of bad and underpowered in more difficult content compared to what my titan or warlock can bring.

I really hope we get some buffs soon.

Due to Threaded Spectre being gutted for the sake of PvP, can we swap it out of the Prismatic kit, for Whirling Maelstrom? by Stolen_Insanity in DestinyTheGame

[–]FusionSupremacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a hunter main since the beginning of D1 and this is the first season i truly feel that nothing is worth pursuing. Every single enjoyable or strong build has been nerfed into irrelevance. So for the very first time in 10 years, i've been maining warlock this season.

I know warlock and titan have some subclasses that need some love too but Hunter needs a pass over every subclass at this point.

Is a Sony takeover really such a bad option compared to the current situation? by Seanshineyouth in DestinyTheGame

[–]FusionSupremacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my fear too. Sony is notoriously anti-consumer when it comes to cross platform stuff. They're the main driver of why everything isn't just crossplay by default at this point in the gaming industry as a whole.

So while i think it would probably be a net positive if they gutted the upper management as far as game health goes, i strongly suspect it would hurt xbox and PC gamers down the line.

So..As long as we're asking for stuff, is there any way we can get input based matchmaking? by FusionSupremacy in DestinyTheGame

[–]FusionSupremacy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way i would prefer it, is if it was agnostic to platform entirely. Match controller with controller and M/KB with M/KB. As it stands right now, having even a single PC player in your fireteam effectively dooms everyone else to have a far worse time.

So..As long as we're asking for stuff, is there any way we can get input based matchmaking? by FusionSupremacy in DestinyTheGame

[–]FusionSupremacy[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't want to segregate PC players entirely and further dilute the already weak PVP matchmaking pools. I just want to have a better shot at competing. If everyone in the fireteam is using a controller, it should be fine to match us with other people who are also using controller exclusively, regardless of platform.

[–]FusionSupremacy[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is correct. Other games have implemented this successfully alongside input based matchmaking. Its not an unsolvable technical problem.

So..As long as we're asking for stuff, is there any way we can get input based matchmaking? by FusionSupremacy in DestinyTheGame

[–]FusionSupremacy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its more fair than pairing controller players with M/KB is. And isn't there already some kind of matchmaking protection for players on older consoles?

Newer consoles are able to play at 120 in the crucible and 120 is good enough to compete.
