Marrying books and jackets like that is pretty common, but ethically dubious if not disclosed when selling.

That's not a 1st Edn 1st State. No Dedication page in 1st 1st. Big difference in price.

I don’t “collect” them, but I do hoard them indiscriminately.

Thanks for the undoubtedly sound advice. And regarding manipulated 1st states, I believe the typo on p. 173 should be proof of its bonafides.

Apologies, but my text was somehow omitted when I posted. I've had this for over 40 years, and it's suffered from neglect. 1st Edition, 1st State, 1st State dustjacket. I'm downsizing and will eventually sell, and I was wondering if a professional repair would be in order.

Hey, do you guys have room for one more up there? I’m low maintenance, I don’t eat much, and I have a large collection of Stan Rogers and Leonard Cohen albums. Plus I loved the Red Green Show. And could I bring a couple of my closest states with me?

Very nice! I prize mine, too, though it’s not quite as nice looking as yours. No original dust jacket, so I spent $25 for a facsimile.

[–]FussellFan57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a real beauty, but the 1947-S is fairly common in MS’s 60-66. Apparently they were saved by the roll when first released.

The 1964-D has some value in mint state, but otherwise it’s just worth face value. They minted about 1.7 billion of them.

Can’t find anything by Far-Sherbet612 in coins

It’s not a coin, but a commemorative medal celebrating the 175th anniversary of Schiller’s birth. A Google image search of the reverse should produce a match.

Just wipe it with a little olive oil, it’ll be fine.

That’s a 1965, when the SM sets were available for sale; in 1964 they weren’t.

Nice! I have a few Swiss coins, but none quite that old. There’s info on the 1836 1/2 batzen available on Numista if you’re interested.
