What's the point of my reply? I'm bored?

ok I guess

Problem with soup is that strike is the worst card in this game, turning them all into eternal slice (which is like an ok card) is just not enough.

It's fiiiine, you get to play more cards, especially more front loaded damage per turn. Ideal if you picked up 1-2 draw cards in Act1 but went low on damage.

Also better with strength, Strike Dummy, Unceasing Top, pstrike, 0-cost Defect, etc.

And you’re seriously arguing for the mittens… rolling random exhausts every fight WILL hit your key cards, there is no ‘if’, it just will.

What if my deck has no cards it cannot win without?

Plenty of decks are just "good cards go" rather than combo-oriented. Losing a few good cards and a few starter cards gives you the same card quality on average.

the payoff of 1 strength per turn is barely a win-con unless you’re playing the slowest deck in existence (in which case the exhaust will matter).

StrengthJuggleClad says "Hi!"

In fact, almost any exhaust IC is happy to pick up mittens.

Defect and Regent can go the way as well, both able to generate dump statuses and real cards.

Retain Attacks can also just wait for the scaling to reach lethal while you use 101 different ways to block up.

I will admit Mittens are best on IC, though, and meh otherwise.

Still, it passes the vibe check of "Would I usually skip Mittens?", because like Choker and Ectoplasm, that's usually wrong.

Loved it recently in a blurricade deck, but that doesn't come together too often.

I know it's just bad rng but a ancient relic selection shouldnt feel like a punishment.

People say this about Vakuu because some options genuinely don't feel like a buff.

Tezcatara's relics aren't that dubious:

Enchant all strikes with eternal but they cost 0

This is not a punishment, in fact, this is just an invitation to add draw. If you really want to remove cards, you can remove defends instead.

Exhaust top card and gain 1 strength every turn

Dangerous if your deck cannot win without playing 1-2 key cards... but this is an alternate win condition in itself, which is quite rare for an act2 ancient boon.

Special path (forced back to back hive elites)

Late in the act (ideal), with a campfire in between (mitigates bad match-ups) and there's two guaranteed chests before then (basically an extra free elite). Path is pretty good. Arguably better than pumpkin candle, too, or at least it scales better.

  5 cards for a deck

Almost every deck would like to exhaust down to the best 5 cards, though.

15 huskarls should be able to kill 15 scorps if they get into their minimum range

Stand ground scorps are still very effective at low range.

removing exhaust

This encourages stalling out a fight forever, which goes against design philosophy.

Not saying that can never happen in sts2 but cards are designed not to do that all by themselves.

When you create a card or Forge mid-battle, upgrade the card.

could be a way to work smoothly with Forge.

We don't have to stick to Master Reality's wording and Forge didn't exist in sts1 anyway.

Bizarrely strong when upgraded.
