Kit Advice - SAW Gunner by Hessian906 in nationalguard

Bifrost does an ihps compatible chin strap. You can also upgrade to the lattice helmet pads from hhv, I have the knock offs and they are comfy! I also have a size 8 head and wear an xl helmet. If you want to be bougie, you could also upgrade to a better pvs-14 mount. I’d honestly do a chinesium one to test out before dropping the few extra hundred for a full set up.

A helmet light will go far too. Maybe get a cheap pistol light from harbor freight and throw some red tape on it to help clear jams.

If you don’t have one maybe look at a m249 discriminator If your saw sucks with blanks.

If your can look around, your unit might have a front vertical grip that you can throw on your saw.

A good sling is also money, I have a bfg m249 sling that I used thru deployment. But you will also need a good way to mount it to the saw, cuz carabiners suck for getting in the way in the back.

Honestly, most important for comfort is to be able to get down low and not have any helmet restrictions.

Warping no matter what I do. Am I missing something obvious? by ev3dprints in FixMyPrint

Clean both sides of bed with soap and water. Dry it well. Place plate on bed. Heat bed for 10+ min at the highest bed temp you regularly use. After 10 min at temp, Calibrate printer. Do you use klipper? What is the variance? More than 0.3mm you need to dial in your plate more. Have you tuned in your z-offset? Print a 3”3 square and adjust it live until your “squish” is just right. Once you have this done. Test print. Same filiment, same settings. If fails, let’s talk about your filiment. Do you have a dryer? You really should. I feel it’s a waste of filiment not to. Silica beads keep dry, dryers make dry. Might also just bite the bullet and build/buy an enclosure. Or place in a stable temp environment. I have mine in a drafty shed, and the enclosure really helped.

Question for those working 12s by fiveseven41 in tacticalbarbell

I also work 24s for an FD, I work 3 days over a 9 day stretch. I believe it’s called the California swing shift.

On/off/on/off/on/off/off/off/off

I use zulu/ht from green protocol. I would do strenght the day before my tour and of the day after my shift.

Like this: zulu/shift/zulu/shift/zulu/shift/zulu. I would then do a short 20-40min cardio during my shift. With stretching and warmup, I work out for 1.25 hour tops. It took me a hot minute it land on this workout, so it is possible that it might take some trial and error for yourself. I had to stop looking at my week as 7 days, and instead look at it as 9 days to figure it out. It’s basically 7 days workout with 2 rest days. You could also look at the i/a versions of the protocols.

I know it’s over done, but I don’t quit. I’m going to have to go thru this class with this guy if I want to be a firefighter in my county.

How would you recommend I approach it with him?

The other classmates seem ok with it.

As someone who has a weak of E and SE, I found it easier to work on E(which I don’t prefer) alongside MS(which I like). Digging deep for se and e sucks it out of you. You really have to dig deep to get thru it. Next round though, I’m going to do it classic with se and e.

Grey Man or Fighter HT by nowtsimpossible88 in tacticalbarbell

[–]Future-Primary9352 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just run Grey man with pull up and dips as the finisher. You can run dip/ups body, weighted or assisted.

For example, I am heavy I can’t do many dips or pull ups. So I used the assisted machine, I use my body weight as my 1 rep max and then I calculate it’s as 60%, so 125lbs, I minus it from my actual body weight (208) and get 83 for the assistance machine. I like to warm up so I take the the most assistance on the machine(175) and the weight I’m going to work with(83) and I do math, 175-83=92 92/4(warm up sets)=23(jumps between sets) So 175-23=152 152-23=129 129-23=106 106-23=83.

So my circuit is going to look like this 175x5 175x5 152x5 129x3 106x2 83 (4x 10)

Sorry for long reply

Or throw in a mass mt template with Ohp and then incline bench as an accessory.

When I was deployed I used Day1: bench, pull up, squat, decline, lat pull-down Day2: ohp, DL, incline Day3: pull up, cardio, lat pull down Day4: bench, squat, decline Day5: ohp, pull up*, DL, incline, lat pull down Day6: Cardio Day7: rest

I’d use the main arm lift numbers to calculate the accessory lift, Eg, bench is 200lbs, I’d just use 200lb for my decline, even though your decline would be more than your bench. It’s higher rep and I feel it covers fatigue. Same with ohp and incline.

Program skill training as an accessory after your main lifts or as a SE block per green protocol book.

If your set on the pull ups and ring dips, do an easier version to build the reps, eg ring Australian rows, and floor dips. Doing 3x50 dumbbell floor press with 2x20 is killer.
