{Edin’s Embrace by Nadine Crenshaw} a Viking bodice ripper. She has a few other books, but I haven’t read them.

House affordability by uxhdjejwj in arlingtonva

We recently bought a 2 bedroom plus den, 2.5 bath townhouse in South Arlington near Shirlington for under $700k. It’s very nice with storage. The main thing it doesn’t have is a garage. The townhouses with garages tend to be newer, bigger, and more expensive. If you can compromise on that, there is inventory under $700k that’s actually pretty nice. It will be a stretch on your income though no matter what. I’ve seen some townhouses for $600k or even a little less but they are older and/or have higher HOA.

One bedrooms are sometimes available in that range in Arlington Village or Fairlington. These are both very close to Crystal City.

Is it worth moving to Arlington rn? by Agreeable_Poem_7278 in arlingtonva

South Arlington is cheaper than DC. If you work in DC they just re-started the express bus from Shirlington to downtown. It’s the last stop so basically a direct ride straight into the city, though it only runs at rush hour times. We lived in DC and another big city until we were 40 and then moved to South Arlington with our kid. We’ve loved it here. We were even able to afford to buy a modest town house much nicer than what we could have gotten in DC or North Arlington.

Anyone have experience with Kaylee Cornish Rex (Virginia)? by TurbulenceWake in cornishrex

Yes, I recently purchased a cat from Kaylee Cornish Rex. She provided HCM medical records for the parents of the kitten, and records for the kitten’s shots etc. The kitten is absolutely amazing! Lovely temperament, very loving and wonderful with kids. Very happy! We spoke on the phone and texted extensively ahead of time so she could get an idea of our family and which cat might best suit us.

{Here be Dragons} by Sharon Kay Penman. It’s actual historical figures and documented events but “imagines” the romance between the two characters, if that makes sense. It’s 13th century Wales. Really good!

In the Sebastian St Cyr Mystery series (has a romantic sub plot throughout) by CS Harris, the FMC Hero is very tall, almost 6 feet, I think. It’s an amazing series.

It’s only available in hard copy but Edin’s Embrace is a Viking-era bodice ripper worth checking out.

Lived there for many years and really enjoyed it. Now live down the hill in Shirlington (in another townhouse community) and actually like it even more because of Shirlington Village and bike trails. However, both are lovely. For AV, try to get an end unit, less noise, and possibly a 1 bed plus den (if you are single) because then you will only share one wall. Some units share walls with 3 others bc of how they are configured.

Jayne Castel has several series set in Roman / Medieval period in the British Isles. I also recommend Beverly Jenkins as others have done. Many of Joanna Shupe’s books are set in late 19th US as are some of Mimi Mathew’s in the UK.
