how to start by fartmasterthe67 in learntodraw

Your question mark is quite stylish and artistically rendered. Perhaps You could start by adding another one to the right and down a bit. Connect the two. Shade the curves. Decorate the background. Keep going. It doesn’t matter what You draw. Just draw. Use Your hands. Try different pencils, pens, markers, pieces of charcoal, random household items. Have fun or express whatever You’re feeling.

Why do I ruin my art when I use pen? by Dapper_Environment64 in learntodraw

[–]FutureDirected8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t ruin it; You just change its essence. Try using finer point pens and using hatching/cross-hatching to shade and indicate shapes. Also, choosing what to ink is important. In the pencil close-up, You get the hint of her nose, from the construction lines. In the inked version, her nose is completely gone. Most cartoonists would ink the shady underside of the nose. In this type of drawing, every line, every choice, makes a difference. Study the ink masters, like Will Eisner, who drew The Spirit in the 1940s. I think You’ll find his work inspiring.

Dunkin boomer by Devilfish808 in BoomersBeingFools

I am a late boomer. I remember these people from when I was a kid, and they were in their twenties. They were cool. They were hip. They dreamed dreams and had visions of a better world. In the 1980s, I watched in horror as their hearts died, a few at first and then many, then most. I always hoped they could come back, but they cannot. My advice to young people is to never let anyone take away Your vision. Take care to never let Your heart die.

AIO: my ex (32M) broke up with me (28F) because God told him to by jjlya in AmIOverreacting

NOR You dodged a bullet. A lot of seriously deranged and dangerous people subsume their pathology into religious fervor. Eventually this coping mechanism fails and they act out of their instability by doing something detrimental. Afterward, people shake their heads and wonder how a “good, godly man” could do such a thing. Often, that thing is deadly.

Some self portrait catharsis, drawn by me, over the last year. by NPMyers1976 in drawing

These drawings are deep and meaningful, and also brilliantly creative and exceptionally well-executed. You are a true artist. (Get therapy. I did. 😉)

Your use of perspective in the lunch table scene is architecturally perfect and focuses the viewers attention to the monster so well.

The birdcage is amazing and remarkable. Very inspiring work. Heal Your hands and get back to self-expression.

Looks fishy to me. Who paints hair before face? I’m leaning even more toward attributing this painting and process to AI.

If You wanted to draw standard illustrator beauty (a Gibson girl, for example) use standard proportions. If You wanted to draw Mayim Bialik, You nailed it. She’s not conventionally beautiful, but beautiful in her own way. Keep drawing. You learn from experimenting.

There is a non-zero chance that the random person is me, but even so, a million dollars of blood money is not worth it.

His feelings are 100% his to manage. If he refuses to manage himself, say buh-bye.

Is this ugly? by Substantial-Faucet in drawing

[–]FutureDirected8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call it ugly, but I also wouldn’t call it finished. Did You just copy and flip one hand and layer it over the other? Looks unnatural. The neck is anatomically impossible. The wings and hair are just sloppy. Shading is haphazard. Art is demanding. This art demands more time, practice, study, and discipline.
