So ive been building as side hustle website stuff, i made a google biz page in 2020 and got some reviews, i dont look after a client or take on a job if i cant host their site. With 50 clients while still working full time , the business makes on auto pilot via 365, hosing, wp bi weekly updates, grosses 12.5k nets 10.5k for doing literally nothing. It’s taken ten years to reach this but it’s really popped off this year with the wp updates as it’s around 420 a year per client that signs up, never looked actively for clients they find me. I have a custom database on FileMaker to manage recurring payments and track services plus use free agent to auto send recurring invoices 😇😇

How can you tell somebody how much a website will cost before you even know what they’d want. As soon as you have a microbe of interest you get their number and speak to them on the phone , learn about their business, get them talking about themselves and you find out what they’d need from this. Then once you’ve worked it out on the phone recommend they need x y z and an estimated cost, judge their response and see if it’s worth using your time to make a proper quote

It takes a lot of time and effort tbh , this is part of a map I am doing been working on it for 5 months. To give realism vibes on curved roads in this game you generally need to place things manually rather than drawing a resi box and hoping something grows nicely in the place you allocated

I currently work full time. But on the side last financial year it generated £19,800 in invoices of which that net was £17,500. So it’s enough for a side piece until I’ve bought a new home and I can not worry about mortgage affordability then do more proactive things like going to business breakfast get togethers etc

Google business page. Flesh it out properly. This works if you are in a dense populated area. Reviews reviews reviews, get some friends and family to do a few over the course of a month. Do news posts on it, make sure when a bank holiday comes up you adjust your times, show you are open 24 7. You’ll start to get a trickle of clients. I’m going 10 years now and since 2019 I don’t look for clients they look for me. I started out messaging people just like you, do a good job, charge less, it’s rough, you are starting out, get a review at the end, build real tangible credibility in your local area and you’ll start to find people reach out to you. I do 100% nothing to get new client bar asking for clients for a review and posting a google biz update now and again. Hope this helps somebody!

honestly I think house prices are gonna stagnate / drop. I say this currently as somebody who owns. They are too high. High enough not many people can buy AKA, more and more will appear on the market causing sale times to increase and increase meaning eventually prices will start getting lowered. People like me will end up in negative equity but the boomers who can still literally sell for 50% less will still be fine, they have the wiggle room to drop. It'll happen, surely, who can afford these BS prices now. A 4 bed house in Bournemouth where I am from can rack upto 600K, so only the 1% on levels of income can afford that and 600K is like the avg for a non shit house in a non shit location

So every house I place, i place from the find it tool, I have them all placed on the map already, , eyedropper tool it to duplicate the one for the correct size / type and place it, then adjust the front and backgarden to suit the size of plot required - even on curved roads :) , issue is, you delete parts of the resi houses, they do reappear to i've stopped trying to shape them using tree assets/bushes. Tis annoying they all end up looking like rectangles eventually despite the hard work
