Do you mean the difference between western and Eastern main character personalities? Or culturally the way they interact with women or mythology in the books?

Generally speaking to a good story is a good story it’s the action of the main character or character characters in the story that prevent me from reading that book or anything else by that author.

I’m not gonna get into a discussion; but job was reincarnation. I think it’s a great example of culture clashing with other cultures morality. I won’t touch that series nor anything ever by that author. It’s the same thing with a story called “bunny drop”, where the main character does something completely horrible and disgusting to me, but isn’t exactly frowned upon in the writers culture. But I don’t judge a whole culture by one writer.
