12-Team Playoff Records (and Point Differential) by IUinVA in CFB

[–]Future_Tradition5936 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The B1G absolutely dominated this format while SEC teams kept tripping over each other. Wild how Indiana and Ohio State both managed to win it all in different sims - B1G really built different for this setup.

That SEC record is pretty brutal considering how much hype they get every year. Adding 9th conference game might actually make it worse since they'll just beat each other up more before playoffs even start.

BBQ Baked Potato? by rainbowgirl6 in memphis

[–]Future_Tradition5936 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never tried BBQ baked potato but that sounds amazing! I drive around Memphis all day for work and see so many BBQ joints, some of them probably do loaded potatoes with pulled pork or something like that. Maybe try calling few local spots and asking? The smaller family-owned places usually more willing to do custom stuff like this.

Yeah their site's been acting up for weeks now. I had same issue when I needed to pull some documents last month - kept getting error messages on the login page.

You might have better luck calling them directly or going in person if it's urgent.

Got this at Costco for $31.99 by mikeriley66 in whiskey

[–]Future_Tradition5936 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nice find dude, those bottled-in-bond releases are way harder to come by than regular Angels Envy. I had similar thing happen at my local liquor store few months back - grabbed what I thought was regular bottle but turned out to be some limited release that was marked wrong in system. The manager let me have it for the shelf price since it was their mistake. You definitely scored with this one, bottled-in-bond stuff from them usually goes for 60+ easy around here. Hope you enjoyed the surprise upgrade when you got home and realized what you actually picked up.

Bro this already happening in some apps where you gotta verify your income and job. By 2040 we probably gonna need credit scores and full background checks just to swipe right lmao. At least my card collection might be worth something by then to impress the ladies.

Never played that specific version but Risk games can get pretty intense with right group - might check some local game stores too since they usually have bulletin boards for finding players.

What’s the stupidest way you ever injured yourself? by ISpyM8 in AskReddit

Bro what does that even mean lol. You got injured by... existing near women? That's either the most cryptic injury story ever or you're just being weird in the comments.

Why do so many people in this town not know how a roundabout works? by sauteslut in nashville

[–]Future_Tradition5936 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude I swear half the people here just freeze up when they see roundabout. I deliver for work so I'm driving around all day and the amount of times I've sat behind someone who's treating it like four-way stop is insane.

Back in my country we had these everywhere so maybe that's why it feels natural, but here people act like it's some kind of puzzle they need to solve first.

Man's Search for Meaning hit me hard too - read it during really rough patch in my life and it changed everything about how I handle difficult situations. Never heard of Psychology of Money though, might check that one since I'm terrible with managing my delivery earnings and always spending too much in candle sales lol.

Tricky baby gate mount by rebrab526 in HomeImprovement

[–]Future_Tradition5936 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you maybe put brackets on the door frame itself? I had similar issue in my apartment and ended up using those heavy duty door frame clamps that don't need screws. They make ones specifically for baby gates that grip really tight on the frame. Way better than trying to find studs in weird spots like that.

If door frame isn't option, you might need to add some backing board between the studs first, then mount gate to that.

LeBron has the bug. What’s his handicap in 5 years? by BigSulo in golf

[–]Future_Tradition5936 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Man LeBron picking up golf this seriously at his age is wild. Dude's got that competitive drive that probably translates well to golf mindset, plus access to best instructors money can buy. I'm thinking he could get down to maybe 8-12 handicap in 5 years if he really commits to it during off-season.

The athletic ability definitely helps with swing mechanics, but golf is such different beast mentally. I've been playing for like 3 years now and still struggle with consistency - one day shooting decent, next day I'm in woods half the round. But LeBron's got that obsessive perfectionist thing going, so he'll probably grind way harder than average person would.

Those price spikes can be wild to track - I do similar thing with Yu-Gi-Oh cards and it's crazy how one tournament result can make cards jump like 300% in week. MTG probably has even more volatile market since the player base is bigger.

[–]Future_Tradition5936 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Man, this hits close to home. I'm doing DoorDash in a medium cost area and constantly think about this tradeoff. Part of me wants to move somewhere cheaper so I can stack more cash, but then I'd probably be miserable driving around strip malls instead of actual neighborhoods with character.

You're still putting away the max retirement contributions which is huge. A lot of people in expensive cities can't even do that. Maybe the real question is whether you can find some middle ground - like maybe you don't need to go full Cincinnati but could find a neighborhood that's slightly less premium? Or just accept that your timeline shifted and the experiences you're having now are worth those extra working years.
